N.B Factual Inaccuracies
on 17 April 2014
I am currently an A2 History student studying for my Exams. I'd like to bring your attention to the fact that this book contains at least one severe factual inaccuracy.
On page 127 it states that "The USPD Disbanded and its members joined either the KPD or the SPD. SO, from that time there were two left-wing alternative parties but with fundamental differences." However, you will find that actually, the USPD continued until 1931, until it merged with the German Workers party: [...]
Wikipedia is, granted, not always the most reliable of sources, but this book in the chapter "Weimar's Political Crisis", makes it appear as if the USPD and the KPD are one and the same, as on page 136, the Book lists the USPD/KPD as achieving 20.0% of the popular vote in June 1920.
This may appear a small point, but this has caused me great angst during my revision, as it has now caused me to doubt some of the other information in this book - Particularly as the Edexcel question paper Series likes asking questions on Early Weimar, so in depth knowledge of this period is key.
Apart from this, it has been, so far, a very useful tool. Consequently, i am giving this book 3 stars.
