the bible of II 12 Oct 2010
By mimsy
I have worn out 3 copies of this book and given away a further 5! The book outlines the development of Intensive Interaction at Harperbury Hospital school in the mid 1980s. The development and theoretical underpinning of the approach was then followed by thorough research and exploration of related subjects to enable other people to use Intensive Interaction.

Melanie Nind and Dave Hewett have a lovely, accessible writing style whilst also managing to include the numerous relevant and supporting reference material that is essential in any publication regarding therapeutic strategies.

This book is a must for any practising or potential II people - however, if the book should prove too challenging and theoretical for new practitioners I would recommend staying with the developers of II and looking at A Practical Guide to Intensive Interaction rather than other authors.

Essential reading 13 Nov 2011
This really is the bible for Intensive Interaction. It is both inspiring and informative as well as being extremely readable and thorough in its discussions. It is also one of those rare books that you can go back to and find new depths and inspiration from in the future. Essential reading to anyone involved in Intensive Interaction - it's all in here!
