Having engaged in some mild urban exploration myself, I thought this book would be very useful. I wasn't wrong. The book is written with a wonderful sense of humour and is packed with useful hints on how to talk your way out of sticky situations (in other words, what to do when you get caught), how to explore safely (watch out for those sagging floors!) and incorporates details of websites/sources of information that will keep urban explorers up to date with all the latest news and info.

It's such a shame that the author, Ninjalicious, passed away recently, but his Infiltration website is still going strong, thanks to his friends. A visit to the site is recommended, along with this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Loads of sensible advice, delivered with wit. 18 Nov 2007
Format:Paperback
'Access All Areas' is an excellent primer to the hobby of urban exploration (UE). Most of the book's contents fall in the 'common sense' category - that is, when you read it, for the most part you'll think 'Yeah, sure, I'd already thought about that'.

Its real strength is -in my view- the style in which it is written; every page brings evidence that the author really loved what he wrote about. Witticisms abound, several 'Been there, done that'-type tales - by the time you've finished the book, you can hardly wait to go out there and do some UE yourself to join in on the fun.

That feeling, more than anything else, is what makes this book great value. Don't get me wrong - it is packed with good advice, too - but, a lot of is stuff you really shouldn't need to be told.

As someone who's already done urban exploration I still found this book to give plenty of sensible advice when in the planning and execution stages. I came across it by accident in some online forums and was glad I did, fairly well written by someone who's done it all first hand.
