Colourful and clearly laid out, it is easy to read and feel you are making quick progress, unlike the 1440+ page manual I tried dipping into initially. However although I have experience with Lotus Approach I found constructing my first reasonably complex Access data base threw up too many problems I didn't have answers for. I have bowed to the inevitable and am now working my way through the above tome (Access 2007 Inside Out) and gaining a much better understanding.
I felt that Access 2007 In Easy Steps was worth reading for an overview of the subject but I needed a more detailed treatment with real-world sample data bases to load, explore and practice with. There is nothing like "doing" to reinforce and clarify what you have read. This book for me is like an open-topped bus tour of the city on a fine day, while I need to explore the alleys and check out the shops and museums.
