I was hoping that this would be a quick visual way of learning how to use Access, I was wrong. This package was just a waste of money, i've now got to try to find another product which can actually teach me how to use Access.
When you are being taught a section you can only skip back to the beginning of that section or to the next section, you cannot rewind somewhere in the middle of a section like you could on Windows Media Player or Quicktime. If you miss something said you have to go through the whole section again!!
If i were a beginner i would not feel confident at all with how to actually DO what i am being taught. They skim over subjects and then claim that you have learnt about what they have taught as if you could do it on you own from then on. Very shallow teaching but it is still better than most books as it is visual.
The advanced CD is not really advanced. Given what i know Access is capable of this is definately advanced teaching. They are just teaching you standard things that perhaps some people would find a bit taxing. I think of advanced as someone who could do a bit of programming.
Even when they did touch on something i didn't know it was explained badly and didn't give me a proper understanding. Not being able to rewind properly (as above) only added to my frustration.
This is somewhat better than a book, but you won't learn much! It is also short, i think it took about 30mins to watch the first cd if you don't stop.
Despite all of the above it is cheap and it is nicer to watch a video rather than read one of those awful access books. It at least shows you around a bit and explains a few things. I still think it is worth buying as it is so cheap and it may help make more complicated confusing guides make a bit more sense. That's why i gave 3 stars.
