1.0 out of 5 stars A very nice case - with a very big BUT...... 25 Sep 2011

I wanted the Blurex case but they seem to be unavailable at the moment - so I decided this looked the "best of the rest" without spending too much money!

When it arrived and I tried it on the Transformer I was very pleased with the snug fit and the general quality of construction. The slighlty "tacky" (literal) grey lining makes a nice contrast to the black exterior and the stand facility is truly infinite (within its' limits) and very stable. So far so good - I used it for the best part of a day and was thinking this was a good buy, albeit rather expensive for what it must cost to make.

Then I opened an application that uses the inbuilt compass and GPS, 3Dcompass, and, oh dear what is going on - my transformer has gone wrong - the compass was pointing in entirely the wrong direction and the map could not obtain my GPS position!

I tried another application, GPS status, the compass screen on that was wildly off course and although it could "see" about 9 satelites the GPS never got a lock and decoded my position - what is going on?

Then I had that "eureka" moment and realised the front cover of the case has magnetic catches - I took the Transformer out of the case and everything worked!

I put the Transformer back into the case and the compass and GPS failed again - "QED" I think.

To summarise then, nice case, looks very smart, well made, stand mechanism works excellently BUT how in the hell can they design a case for a unit which has magnetic sensors and a GPS aerial exactly below where they decide to place a magnet to hold the front flap shut! I can only assume the designer never actually tested it on a working Asus Transformer.

I am sending this back for a refund. "Designed specifically for the Transformer" - yeah right!

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the Money 20 Aug 2011

I looked long and hard for a case for my Eee Pad transformer and rejected the cheaper ones because they looked too 'plasticky'. This case is not leather, despite the description, but it's a very pleasing-looking alternative and fits the tablet exactly. It also allows you to have the tablet at any angle because of the texture of the inside of the case. It feels robust and it protects the tablet extremely well. Why not 5 stars? Well because it states 'leather' but I'm pretty sure it's not, though it's a very good imitation. Also be aware that it ships from America so don't exptect immediate delivery. Mine took eight working days - so in effect, 2 weeks, but that was well within their stated delivery time. I am pleased with my purchase even though it is not the cheapest out there at the moment, it looks great, fits well, and in my opinion is good value for money.
