I struggled through this technical manual with a story woven into it. To much tech info rather spoiled a promising story.

or something.

Ian Douglas seems to getting even better. His military themed space operas seem to me to be rivalling Alistair Reynolds' early works.

Reasonable read but nothing surprising really. Good train or plane session as easy read. Would read again on another flight

Following on from Blood World, continues the career of Elliot Carlyle. The medical work and descriptions are exemplary, and could be descibed as Frank G. Slaughter in space. All the books under the Ian Douglas name are classics.
