Product Description

Product Description

This is the 60 page Novella version of what will ultimately be a full memoir of around 350 pages.

This memoir is about Alexander, a soft and sensitive five year old boy with an abusive father who is a high-ranking biker within a notorious biker gang in San Bernardino, California during the mid-1970's. San Bernardino is the birthplace of McDonald's; but also the birthplace of The Hells Angels MC and Vagos MC, two of the most violent biker gangs ever to exist.

A war is brewing in San Bernardino, and other violent biker gangs want their stake in this city. Alexander's father wants him to become a second-generation biker; meaner, tougher, more violent, and more ruthless, but Alexander and his older best friend, Ronnie, don't want violence, they want love. Worlds collide, and two sensitive boys are trapped in the crossfire against their will. Their father's don't want their only sons to be sensitive, they want violent biker sons, and they will either break the two boys, or tear them apart. Will love save the day, or will violence have its say? What will happen to Alexander and his best friend Ronnie?

Warning: This 60 page memoir contains some child abuse; some profanity; violence between children; an illegal dog-fight; a brief mention about a child being raped; young boys drinking alcohol and smoking; and lots of hugs.

This Novella didn't start out as a book, I started writing to help me in therapy because I am able to tap into and express my painful emotions more effectively by writing them out instead of just talking about them. However, I decided that it would be a really good idea to write a book about my life. Silly me. It really was NOT a great idea, because the fastidious Virgo in me had to research on how to present a good story and plot, then research how to write emotions, scenes, dialogue and how to effectively rewrite, and rewrite... You get the idea.
Other children had it far worse, and unfortunately there are many children today going through absolute hellish abuse that is more extreme than anything I endured. However, I believe you will find that my childhood was no walk in the park. There is no way to prepare you for this journey into my life. It will probably shake you to your very core. I assure you, it did me. However, at times you will laugh too, and hopefully even cheer me on. I hope my true story opens your heart enough to realize the severe and lasting pain that child abuse inflicts on innocent children. It's not as rare as you might think. But I must warn you, we will take a journey into the very depths of hell. As you will find out, there is gnashing of the teeth, even baby teeth.

There are many times throughout my journey I needed a gentle hug. Hopefully you will be kind and remember that as you read my story, and imagine you are giving that scared and traumatized little boy a warm and gentle hug, along with some loving, kind and encouraging words. If anything, it will help you out.

Thank you for your time and any feedback you can give. Best wishes to you. Take care.

More About the Author

Alexander currently lives in The Pacific Northwest (USA). He was born on a sunny afternoon in Los Angeles, California near the dawn of first recorded history, way back in 1971. Even though he was born with a smile on his face, the doctor still spanked him on his bare butt, apparently trying to prepare him for a childhood that would be wrought by abuse. After many setbacks in his life, including being homeless for a few months in 2008 during "The Great Recession", Alexander was finally able to get psychotherapy to help him find his way out of the dark abyss that growing up abused led him to. He still is continuing psychotherapy to this day.

During the early parts of psychotherapy it was discovered by his therapist that Alexander had a talent for writing. Because of her encouragement, Alexander expresses himself through song lyrics, poetry and now as a first time author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Memoir of a Blighted Childhood. 28 Jan 2014
By ACB (swansea) TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was obviously painful and difficult to write considering it is a personal memoir of the author, then a soft-hearted 5 year old boy, Alex, and his best friend, 12 year old Ronnie, also a sensitive lad. Unfortunately, they are hardened, violent bikers' sons with their own codes of practice and behaviour. Only toughness and aggression are tolerated. There is no room for normal childhood. Alex's father regularly beats him as part of his bad-tempered cruelty, but much worse follows. I admire the author for sharing his pain. He writes in a direct style. It is not an easy read in it's content, although I suspected it may be worse, but is an example of how brutal and unkind childhood experiences can be, persisting into adulthood, and how lucky and grateful most of us should be, having had happy, loving upbringings. I look forward to the rest of the author's story. He tells us it gets much worse. The mind boggles at the thought. Excellent and emotive read.

3.0 out of 5 stars An unfinished story 29 Jan 2014

The book was not complete. It recommended at the last chapter to go to Facebook for the rest of the story. Not very satisfying for a reader.
