I loved this book-I get so tired of reading second rate romances, it is a real pleasure to find a good one these days!Lady Elizabeth is an aging spinster, who has devoted her whole life to her selfish father, only for him to marry an spiteful airhead who supplants her position as his hostess. So she is more than ready when our hero, a painter who makes his living from lonely women he seduces, makes an advance. With inner trepidation, she agrees to sit for him, but slowly he realises, through a sucession of scorching love scenes, that he is falling in love with her, even though she is not rich in her own right-her rich and powerful father owns everything. There is also a sub plot as her housekeeper, who is chaperoning her, falls in love and marries his father...a great read.
