I read a lot of psychology books. I love them, eat them up but this was not written by a therapist, or a professional anything. This guy spends the first few chapters going into lengthy details, recalling his college days where he actually managed to get laid. It was like reading a college kids diary and written in first person. Which is also a big annoying factor. I hate even reading national bestselling fiction books written in first person.
I forced myself to finish the book, even when he started insulting my intelligence. The chauvinistic author said it could valuable for men or women but he didn't talk to the readers as if they were women until the last five pages of the book or so in a loosely titled section titled How to Keep Your Man.
He related life and the pursuit of women to video games frequently and getting laid is not a video game and that is not seduction. Seduction and romance is getting into her head, creating a relationship, not lies, and getting your game on. The other thing he encourages is mass attempts of getting laid. I guess there is success in numbers? Try and ask every girl in the room for a kiss and someone will say yes. Please, women if you have to date this guy, make sure you use a condom because it is most likely they are sleeping with no more than 3 people or so at a time...and there is such a thing as sexual diseases. (authors words not mine)
My personal opinion is that my vibrator would be a better date night than anyone trained by this book. It encourages really shallow behavior and my biggest turn-offs include cheaters, jerks, and liars.
It should be titled. I will do ANYTHING to get Laid with a real woman instead of my blow up doll.
It's worth what I paid for it, and since I got it for free I should not be complaining but man, he pissed me off, talking about women as if we are stupid. In actuality, we are picky who we sleep with. We have to be. We are the ones who decide whose DNA is going to be preserved for future generations.
I have known more men who like to cuddle after sex than women. People don't always fit in stereotypical files. If I ever met this guy on the streets, and I love geeks and nerds, don't get me wrong--I would have b*tchslapped the guy who tried any of these techniques on me, but I have never been a woman that played well with others.
After reading this book I realized I have to stop reading the psychology/relationship books that are self published. Not good. Not good at all. Now I have to figure out how to delete this off my kindle.
Meh. When the zombie apocalypse happens, he is going to be locked out of my shelter.
Clearly this was built upon the ashes of these systems, that cannot be denied. But I really have to admit that this is a positive evolution of these ideals. While acknowledging the ground work laid before it, even going as far as summarizing and cleaning up some of the basic concepts, but maintaining a focus that less is more, it begins to expand in very positive ways.
First and fore most it encourages self improvement. An emphasis on being well-rounded and versatile, yet completely retaining a sense on integrity to yourself, while maintaining respect for women. Covering a wide array of the expected subjects, yet able to provide information on what is best avoided, but how to tailor yourself to be the best version of yourself. Yes, yourself. Not the preconceived image of who you should be in order to score big. If you should feel completely lost, it does still have allot of helpful suggestions lined up, but I found that these were still very tasteful and informative. Everything from all of the types of humor there is, to how to speak properly and clearly. Each example is always clearly described and explained, the how and why this works, including examples of success and failures. At some points near the end I found some of it may have been a little too in depth, even going as far as providing movie suggestions, or the best holidays to go out. But, maybe you would like that kind of information just as well.
I really appreciate how women were spoke of in this. As women. Not a prize, not a conquest, but a person. Much of this really felt like a sincere effort to help out the little guy that feels like he just can't compete with the other guys. Don't worry, allot of the truth is laid out. Instead of just saying there's a woman, go get her! There is several concepts laid out asking you, the reader, who are you looking for, what kind of a person, and how to go about it. Of course it can always be looked at in the way of you want salmon, go fish in a river instead of a lake.
"Say, bye" , one of my personal favorites from this book, the complexities in this small statement is clearly described just as well as every new concept presented. There's still a ton of secrets hidden in this little gem. This isn't a self-help book after all. There is still a clear goal in mind, and a bounty of insider information that usually comes with a large price tag. It covers the basics to the advanced, the tried and true, but still encourages improvisation and adaptability.
While settling many of the myths, summarizing the older systems, and providing a fresh look and new ideals to an age old approach, the book provides some of the most coherent and helpful guidelines for men and women alike. Yes, women also. Not only do I feel strongly that women should be aware of this type of material, there is a well rounded revision of the contents summarised specifically for women in the latter parts of the book.
I chuckled through a couple of chapters and dumped it, but then, I'm not the target audience. It's insulting. Women seen as targets and notches on a bedpost. Yes, indeed, rah rah rah...
