I used this book for my main essential reading/note writing/revision for my subject in abnormal and clinical psychology.

the book i would recommend!!!

there are lots of information. it covers Schizophrenia, depressive (mania and depressive), anxiety, substance abuse, eating disorders and much more.

each issue is split in the description of the disorder (DSM criteria and general info of disorder), aeitology and treatment.

It provides the biological, psychologyical, cognitive and many more views for treatment and cause of the disorders.

it also includes case studies

This was enough for my subject, i required no other readings. studies were plentiful.

For someone who likes using books for their courses this is a good one to buy.
If you require more studies google scholar was great to compliment the info from this book.

The book is a really great companion to a psychology degree module in abnormality- it gives a comprehensive overview of up to date research, and explains it in an easy-to-follow way.

As a psychology undergradute student, I was recommended to purchase this book for my abnormal psychology module from the lecturers. After glancing through the book, it is clear to see why this textbook was recommended over others, the book covers a range of research, clinical cases and explanations of things such as anorexia, substance abuse, OCD, schizophrenia...What is more, the text is surrounded by pictures which makes learning about these issues even more enjoyable.

This book provides a great summary of loads of different psychological disorders and behaviours. It's thorough and easy to understand; the addition of pictures makes it a lot more interesting to read than other books which are all text. I would definitely recommend this to a psychology student - I've used it in both my first and third year at university.
