Whilst many debate which is the better seller or indeed better album between 'Abigail' and 'Them' you really can't deduct any stars because this is such a nice package and an essential buy for any King Diamond fan. You get the remastered version of the epic saga 'Abigail' which is clear as a bell, (a church bell at midnight)and in fantastic packaging. There is an enclosed booklet that takes various comments from the band that made this classic release come to life way back then, and their memories of each other's contributions. The other thing that makes this worth the dollars is the DVD. Despite being of pirate quality which adds to the underground feel of the eighties before MTV and the like, it is a great collection of songs live in Europe on the Abigail tour. If that is not enough then the official videos for 'The Family Ghost', 'Sleepless Nights' which is fantastic and 'Welcome Home' certainly will please. The only odd thing is how hairband King's band looks around him, somewhat out of step for the kind of music and atmosphere being portrayed. Don't delay in buying this whilst you can and lets hope there is more live video footage sitting in the vaults.

`Abigail' is widely recognised as King Diamond (the bands) finest moment as *adopts Gillan style scream* it's got everything! King and der guys put together not only a solid concept but they remembered excellent songs with pretty tunes, melodies and a good helping of face melting shred too.

Now I said that the concept is strong, but that doesn't mean I've paid that much attention to it. It's typical King Diamond horror film fare; lots of spooky ghosts and people with silly names (Miriam!) falling down stairs and possessed unborn dead foetus which may or may not be the result of unwanted teenage pregnancy and single parenting. Anyway, it's a strong concept with a nice sinister atmosphere but it won't have you clutching a crucifix and praying the devil will spare your soul like `Don't Break the Oath' did.

`Abigail' has what I consider King Diamond's strongest and most interesting line up musically. Mikkey `Joey Tribbiani' Dee is without doubt one of the best drummers in rock; technical and hard hitting without overplaying and he has an instantly recognisable style with a nice round sound. Michael Denner and Andy LaRoque, are King Diamond's best guitar duo. Michael Denner may not have the chops of his successors but he more than makes up for it in terms of note selection and memorable solos which he has a uncanny knack for (see the wonderfully crafted solo at the end of `Black Horseman'). And although he's not as technically able as some of his frankly faceless successors he's hardly at Jack White levels of technique. Andy LaRoque is a shred monster, the man wails and gargles his way through this album with stunning precision but he doesn't lack emotion either. Overall, the guitars have a neo-classical feel to them and there's plenty of catchy riff work to be found here.

This is too good to be true, when I first heard I had to listen again to see if what I just heard had just been real or a dream. Thank God it was real, This is too amazing to describe in words.

All The songs are 10/10 and Even the bonus tracks are 10/10.

The Packaging is beautiful and the Booklet is big and full of pictures comment and information and lyrics to the album.

Buy It And Remember '18 is actually 9'

You will understand that line if you buy this stunning masterpiece by the King.
