Aberrant is the game designed for those players who can imagine being gifted with incredible abilities whilst living in the real world. It is NOT, and was never designed to be, a super-hero game of people flying around in their underwear. Like most White Wolf products this game is designed for the mature gamer. Imagine realising one day you had been "blessed" with superhuman abilities. Whilst at first it would be fantastic, you would soon feel outcast from society - you're no longer truly human any more. Even more so, what happens when you realise that by pushing these new abilities to their limit you can cause them to increase in power, but in doing so you begin to manifest obvious changes to your body, small ones to begin with but over time becoming more obvious. Still think it's worth it? The reason I love this game is because it causes you to really think about the effect super powers would have on the real world, and gets away from the comic archetype of beating up the arch-villain. By all means, play the game as a form of comic book if thats what you want to do, but in doing so you are missing out on the core questions that the game begins to bring to light, and that in my opinion make the game a true classic.

I love this book! The system is simple to understand and allows for some real opportunity to develop an awesome superhuman.

There is enough room to allow personal background development as well as future intrigue and backstabbing, which is always fun.

I highly suggest this book to anyone who likes playing in the comic superhero genre.
