This was a present for my husband, as it is no.2 in the book '101 Whiskies to Try Before You Die'. Very different from what he had tried before. Definitely a very good buy if you want to explore different types of whiskies. Had to buy the Glencairn glass to go with it. A nice set!

I love this whisky even though, strangely, I find it a little too sherry sweet for my tastes. For me, it's an early or mid-evening drink, lovely to sit with for a good half hour to an hour just seeing how it changes and opens. It's a big guy, with lots of spicy orange and sherry flavours - it needs three or four spoonfuls of water to open it up and do the flavours justice (and also to soften the high alcohol volume, 60.2%). I can't quite decide if it's a summer or winter drink - there's enough heat for an autumn or winter evening, but the sunnier flavours mean it works well at brighter times of the year too.

I'm a fan of the bottle and packaging, too. There's an understated solidity to both, which contributes to the whisky's character. They have the same understated elegance and warmth as the whisky itself.

It's very well priced, considering the quality.

This was a gift from me to a whiskey buff - fortunately he shared it. With minimal and accurate dilution, we were delighted by the complex explosion of flavours in the mouth and the loooong lingering aftertaste - worth every penny

Massive sherry bomb, can't compare to previous batches as 47 is the only one I've tried but really good, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
