A full-length history of Aberfeldy and the surrounding area of Highland Perthshire, from the Ice Ages right up to 2010 and covering the area from Glenlyon to Logierait, this book is much more than the story of one town. It is the story of the whole area stretching from Glen Lyon and Fortingall, through Kenmore, Dull and Weem, by way of what is now Aberfeldy, right down to the confluence of the Tay and Tummel at Logierait.
Lying at the edge of the highlands, the Aberfeldy area saw the furthest outposts of Roman advance. In later times it frequently lay on the dividing line between warring clans and later still in conflicts between competing claims to thrones and religious groups.
Written in a very fluid, easy to read style, this book is the story of the people and the building of a community.
