DVD Description
After more than 25 million copies sold of the CD ABBA Gold, this DVD version of the album features promo clips for the 19 songs included on the original CD. Although previously released as a VHS collection, the ABBA Gold DVD features the classic ABBA videos in upgraded and restored versions. In addition to legendary hits such as Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Take A Chance On Me and The Winner Takes It All, the DVD features the first DVD release of the videos for Lay All Your Love On Me and I Have A Dream.
The DVD also includes two bonus selections, released for the first time on DVD. ABBA - The History is a 25 minute documentary, put together in 1999 at the time of the 25th Anniversary of ABBA's victory with Waterloo in the Eurovision Song Contest, which also coincided with the opening of the musical Mamma Mia!, based on the group's songs. Through interviews with Bjorn Ulvaeus and ABBA sound engineer Michael B. Tretow, especially made for this documentary, ABBA - The History takes an in-depth look at the making of the music, as well as reflecting on the band's amazing career and the ongoing revival. The second bonus track, Dancing Queen (1992 Version), dates back to the time of the original release of ABBA Gold. At that time, Dancing Queen was reissued as a single, and a re-edited version of the video was prepared. This clip is also released on DVD for the first time. The ABBA Gold DVD comes with a 12 page booklet, featuring a 2,600 word biography of the group.

This DVD which has finally been released, is brilliant. It has the original videos of Chiquitita, One of Us and Thank You for the Music, which on the Definitive Collection were put through a video filter, and the picture was not as clear as here on GOLD. Also the videos for I Have A Dream and Lay All Your Love On Me, as well as the 1992 version of Dancing Queen.
While this video is not as long as the Definitive Collection it is a must for the essential Abba collector, as well as anyone who has enjoyed the ABBA GOLD CD.

Format:DVD
I have been an ABBA fan since my teens (70s)! The sound quality of this recording is exceptional and I really appreciated the second disc which has all the less popular songs (which happens to be my favourites) on it. I would really recommend this collection of 2 CDs and DVD to any ABBA fan! It is the best recording (sound quality) i have ever heard of all the ABBA LP's or CD's. GET IT NOW!!!!!
PS - the ABBA documentary was a little dissapointing - would have liked to see more of the other members of the band being interviewed. Still - do not even hesitate to buy this collection!!!!

Format:DVD
Polydor really messed up with the whole ABBA Gold project. Had they known that it would go on to be one of the biggest sellers of all time I'm sure they would have put more thought into it. This DVD repeats the mistakes of the CD. So, absent are major hits like "Summer Night City", ABBA's first hit "Ring Ring", the track critics consider one of their finest singles "The Day Before You Came", and singles made famous from films like "I Do, I Do, I Do" (from Muriel's Wedding) or "Eagle" (from ABBA The Movie). All these missing gems can be found on the other ABBA DVD "The Definitive Collection" which has 35 clips on it compared to under 20 here. Treats like the promo clips for "Happy New Year", "Bang-a-Boomerang", "When All Is Said and Done", "When I Kissed The Teacher", "One Man One Woman", "Head Over Heels" and "Under Attack" are all waiting for you there. If you like ABBA then don't settle for what you get on ABBA Gold, the CD or DVD. You're only getting half of the picture.

Happy 8-year old...
Bought for an 8-year old girl that fell in love with the Mama Mia musical. Lots of their most famous songs with the original videos, still great after 30+ years...recommended!

Nice jumpers.
It's ABBA, it's gold and these guys had no idea how to make an interesting music video. There's loads of big wooly jumpers and strange sci-fi looking jumpsuits.
