I have been using this card for 6 months and have been so pleased. I originally bought the card to capture COD gameplay from my PS3 via HDMI which it does perfectly.

I also own a Optoma HD67 3D ready projector, while i was looking into 3d gaming possibilities I stumbled across a thread saying the Avermedia HD card can be used to watch SKY 3D on my projector. As a sky world subscriber I hooke the HDMI from my HD box into the card. Using the drivers that ship with the avermedia and the latest avermedia centre (Free to download from avermedias website) I have been watching footy a movies in 3D off Sky.

I also bought a HDMI Switcher so I can select between the PS3 and SKY 3D without pulling the TV out each time. Awesome.

So if you have a Optoma or Acer Nvidia 3d ready projector and Nvidea 3d Vision and are looking for a cheapway to watch Sky 3D without buying a new TV this is it. Plus you can capture your PS3 or Xbox 360 Gaming like the HD PVR.......Bonus.

5.0 out of 5 stars AVerTV CaptureHD H727 23 Jan 2012
First off id like to say that this product is fantastic if you want to record your gaming (i have mine set up on my xbox 360)

Things you need to know:
- You will need to buy a HDMI splitter
- The program the give you is useless, ive found a third party program that is much better
- If you are recording your games, make sure you HD TV matches the size of your recordings, for example if you are recording in 720p, make sure your TV is set to 720p

I have to admit, its not exactly easy to get running, but once you do, you wont regret it as the quality is amazing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good but bundled software not great 29 Dec 2011
Been using this product along with a hdfury 3 to record from a ps3 and also sky hd box.
Tried avermedia's software to record using h264, unfortunately the avermedia software offer very little options for recording other than size and bit rate. It also handles 1080i input pretty badly too due to poor deinterlacing.
Luckily since the hdfury removes the hdcp, other programs can be used to view and record, and also allow a fuller range of setting. Amarec Tv seems to be the best so far and offers good deinterlacing options, can set the H264 setting as you please, the bit rate is not limited in the software just limited by how fast your hard drive is and can also be easily switched between 720p and 1080i sources using presets. Using FIFA 12 from the ps3 as a test I compared Amarec and Avermedia's own software both using h264 (fastest settings) and bit rate at 15000. Avermedias own software looked ok but the field was pretty blurry, some lagging happened during recording and just wasnt what I had hoped, Amarec on the other hand looked almost identical to the original with no lag what so ever when recording.
If you are thinking about buying a HDfury and using with hauppauge HD pvr, I would recommend saving a few £ and buy this capture card instead purely because you have more options on recording format, settings and software (but may need a pretty good machine to take full advantage) Although the hauppauge HD pvr maybe better if you have a slower machine due to lower CPU usage.
All in all very happy with the card but not avermedia's software

3.0 out of 5 stars Worked a treat...for a few months 31 Jan 2012
By Zak
First of all, the delivery for this item was superb. Could not fault amazon at all there.
The item in question was packaged well, and all included instructions and drivers were included.
For the first few months, the capture card worked well, allowing me to capture footage from both my xbox and ps3. But after a few months,
the HDMI port on it stopped working properly. Drivers removed and re installed, updated, card itself removed from my PC and tried
in a neighbours, but still I have problems.
As soon as one of said devices sends a signal through, my PC blue screens and restarts. Other hardware has been tested extensively.
Overall, the product itself is a good purchase, I was just unfortunate for a breakdown.
Would recommend to anyone, but get some form of warranty with it, as with all electronics, it will eventually breakdown.
3 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works brilliantly for capturing gaming 2 Jan 2012
By Tweazel
So i brought this about 7 months ago and when it came i fitted it into my pc. orginally it wouldnt work on my pc and i couldnt figure out why so i had a look on device manager and apparently it wasnt there. however if i removed my graphics card it would work and when i tried it with a different graphics card it worked fine. so i got a new graphics card for 30 quid that was alot better than my old one(which was massive and in the way anyway) and it works fine now. This didnt bother me as i was doing my pc up anyway. Then i set up my xbox to it using a hdmi splitter so it didnt lag why recording and its perfect for the job. it captures in full HD with NO problems and 1gb works out about 15mins of gameplay so isnt too bad. Also comes with a remote so i can just push record when i want and stop it again. i cant comment on the tv side of the card as i have never used it to do anything although i know it works. All in all im very happy with it, however i do know when i got it a[art from the graphics problem it did take me a little while to sort out the setting to record in however once it was set up hasnt been a problem since.
