I bought this mono earphone because im deaf in one ear and have always had a problem with headphones in the past where half the sound would be missing and when listening to music it can be very annoying. This earphone can sit on either ear and plays a mono effect sound giving you all the sound into one ear. I am extremley happy with it and for the price have no complaints whatsoever, im sure they're are better ones on the market but you can say that about anything, and how much money do you want to part with? So i would strongly recommend this earphone, the sound quality is good for the price and delivery was very quick.

As an insomniac I pass the hours when I'm awake and my partner is asleep by listening to the radio! Normal earphones are uncomfortable unless lieing on your back; one earpiece always gets squashed against the pillow! With this single side earpiece I can listen through one ear only. It swings round so as to fit either ear. Just what I needed.

Another insomniac here! This one-sided earphone that can be turned to fit either ear is what I'd been looking for, having tried without success all sorts of devices to listen to my radio during the sleepless hours that a) would not fall from my ears, b) would let me lie on either side and c) would not wake my wife. This very cheap earphone is brilliant. So simple, yet so effective and comfortable. Hugely recommended.

I purchased this earphone to use with the roberts sports dab digital radio and it is excellent.I prefer this type to the one that fits in your ear as it is more comfortable.I mainly listen to talk radio like 5 live and talksport so stereo isn't needed and i think it's safer when you are walking along to keep one ear free to listen with! It clips easily onto the ear and the lead is long enough for you to be able to keep the radio anywhere about you, even in a carrier bag.

I bought this product thinking it would fix my problem but it didn't And the reason it doesn't fix my problem is because I wasn't wise in the ways of mono and stereo.

I wanted to hear all the sound from two channels in one earpiece, and I thought this device would do it. I now realise it doesn't and cannot. If you plug it into something which produces stereo sound, you will hear only the left channel.

If you want both channels of a stereo sound coming out of your device (e.g. iPod etc) melded into a mono sound, I believe you need a stereo male to mono female adapter as well and then you will be OK with this earphone. At least, I hope that's the case as it's the next thing I'm going to try out to solve my problem!

This was purchased to allow my wife to listen to recordings of lectures saved on an MP3 player. These are often listened to in a car, and as it is illegal to drive with head phones on, because of not being able to hear the road noises around you, she uses a single ear piece instead, which I think is legal, I might be wrong though!

The ear piece has survived many miles of driving, her daily commute was 50 miles each way (100 miles a day). The sound is good and most important gives a clear reproduction of the noises being thrown at it.

Received this item and after attempting to fit it to my ear I discovered it was far too small. I was very disappointed, but after realising that the earpiece could slide up and down to fit ear size, I was happy. This fits much better now, and the sound is quite good. I use it mainly in bed to listen to podcasts in the evening, and being able to wear it on either ear to allow me to sleep on either side is excellent.

The sound quality is rather good for the price, although if you're looking for something that produces high quality audio this is not the item for you. With my iPhone volume up full I can quite easily hear everything, although in slightly louder environments it can sometimes be difficult. If, like me, you're purchasing this to use in bed or in a quiet area then you shouldn't have any problems with it. Not recommended for use in louder areas. The volume is good for a quiet room but would be useless on a bus, for example.

At the price I think it's tough to complain about the quality of the product. It feels quite sturdy, and the adjustable earpiece is useful. It feels very comfortable on the ear, and so far I haven't had any problems with it. The lead is quite long, too, and I think it would very easily fit into most pockets. I've had trouble in the past with earphone leads being too short, but this one is quite good.

At the end of the day, it's worth a shot if you're unsure. At worst you'll lose a few quid that you'd have probably wasted on something useless anyway, and at best you'll have got yourself a bargain. As it's suitable for kids and adults, you could always make it a cheap Christmas/Birthday gift for a relative if you find it not to your satisfactions.

I use a mono earphone to listen regularly to the LBC late night phone-in show. This involves the side of head on the pillow scenario, so a piece that can hook over either ear is essential to me. I previously had the one piece fixed arm design, which was OK but hard on the lug hole at times. Once that finally died, I decided to try this hinged design, which turns out to be far more comfortable, with a nice foam cushion in place too. Good clear sound, very well made for the price.
Nick Abbot will sound just fine through this little gem.
