We bought this bike for our daughter's 2nd birthday as she was desperate to ride a bike but can't pedal a big bike. Before ordering I read the reviews about stiff steering and unfortunately the first bike we received had this problem. However we emailed Jaco and he put us in touch with the UK supplier who sent us a replacement within the week and in time for her birthday. She absolutely loves this bike and so does her 4 year old brother. It looks great and feels really strong and well made. It offers enough balance without being too easy and she looks very proud to be riding a 'big girls' bike rather than a typical toddler ride on! Don't be put off by the stiff steering as the customer service is first class.

I've just bought one of these for my 3 year old daughter. We've actually got another balance bike (Glide to Ride) but unfortunately I feel it's a little too big at the moment and my daughter lacks the confidence to use it. I was looking for something smaller and slightly easier for her to use in order to build up her confidence. Unfortunately the first bike we received had an issue with stiff steering. However, after e-mailing the originator of the bike (Jaco Kruger) I had a very prompt reply and received a replacement bike very quickly. Apparently there had been an issue with the first batch of bikes and the problem has now been rectified. I can't fault the customer service received from the YBike company...excellent!
The bike is a great design and my daughter loves it. She got the hang of it straight away and can go pretty fast on it already and it's really nice to see her gaining her confidence. Obviously due to the back wheels being slightly wider than the front wheel, it isn't totally unstable like other balance bikes. However that's not such a bad thing, especially if your child isn't super confident. It's a really funky little bike and is sturdy but light enough to manoeuvre and carry easily (always good if your little one gets tired and you need to carry the bike).
Overall, I would highly recommend the YBike and think it's a great introduction to balance bikes, especially as it can be suitable from 2 years. My son is approaching 18 months and he's been pretty keen to have a go too!

Great product, it has a very sturdy build quality and with its bright colours and chopper style design, my 3 year old loved it! He was slightly too young to ride a normal bike, so i decided to try a balance bike. It was instantly recognizable that the Ybike did its job and helped him to improve his balance. With christmas coming up, im hoping his improved balance will help him make the transition to a bicycle without stabalisers.
Didnt experience any of the issues mentioned in the previous review, perhaps this was due to a faulty bike, would be interested to hear the manufacturers response to those issues.

Orange Y-bike
