Ever popular, the GT-2160 delivers great stability and durability whilst retaining a responsive road feel. The latest version is the lightest ever with comfort boosted by an improved upper fit. The full length Guidance Line, a groove on the underside of the sole, focuses the runner’s tread reducing energy wastage and fatigue. The main benefit of Guidance Line is a more efficient path through the gait cycle, but it also helps the shoe shed some weight as well. This is the lightest-ever GT-2000TM shoe. It’s also extremely comfortable with a new, dual density sole providing a softer road feel and memory foam around the heel collar and tongue holding the ankle in place. A ComforDry Sockliner gives extra cushioning and a healthier in-shoe environment.

The ASICS GT 2160 Spring/Summer 2011 Running Shoe continues to go from strength to strength. The shoe is perfect for the serious runner in need of some additional support to prevent against overpronation. The main difference between the 2160 and the 2150 is the addition of Guidance Line, which is designed to give you a more efficient path through the gait cycle. This new Guidance Line also makes the 2160 the lightest shoe in the 2000 series so far.

Product arrived quickly. Shoes are like all the last series of asics running shoes(asics 2120.2130 etc..) - great support for running(overpronator) and very comfortable(better than all my shoes) and lighter. They last for a year with lots of running on and off road(at least 800miles).

What can I say that hasn't already been said about the ASICS 2000-series? As any fule no, it's a moderate-stability shoe for running in for long periods. It's had most of the irritants worked out of it over many annual iterations, and this one is no surprise at all. I wouldn't normally buy shoes on spec but I felt confident enough to do so with this brand and model, having had many of its predecessors over the years.
If I had a wish it would be for it to be more responsive, without losing stability, but at the end of the day I want something to keep my feet and joints safe and comfortable for day in day out training. This is perfect for that.

I've run nearly 500 miles in my ASICS GT-2160 trainers, and find them so good and comfortable that I've just ordered another identical pair. I'd recommend them to anyone look for a reasonably priced running shoe, though make sure it's the right one for you, according to your own particular running style and requirements.

Worst ASICS I have used
