The ASICS GEL-BLACKHAWK 5 shoes. Autumn/Winter 2011 Version is the fifth version of the highly capable entry-level cushioning running shoe. ASICS have made this shoe with the middle mileage runner in mind. It provides good entry level cushioning at a very affordable price.

Normally wear Reebok, but I was disappointed with the robustness of my last gel purchase. Having read numerous good Asics' reviews I opted for the Blackhawk (£68.00 in a local shop) and found the same pair for less than half that price on Amazon. Really pleased with trainer; I do predominately treadmill exercise in the gym and occasionally a little road work and I've no complaints with comfort or support. Goods received ahead of scheduled delivery date.

My past experience of Asics trainers/shoes has been a good one. They really do cushion each step, which is very noticeable on lengthy walks, when compared to other shoes.
Unfortunately for me Asics seem to make their shoes quite shallow, so my feet never quite feel comfortable. A problem I experience a lot with shoes but not normally with trainers, which are much softer.
The Blackhawk 5 was shallow in the extreme, and I couldn't even get my feet into them. So I gave them to my son who has the same show size as me. He weares them all the time and is more than happy.
