I'm more than happy with this product. It arrived in good time (I think it was two or three days after I ordered it) in a plain little box that kept it safe in transit. No instructions but you don't really need any.

Setting it up was relatively straight forward although I had to download and install some "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge" drivers. I forget where I got the drivers from now but I just googled it. I'm not super technical and I worked it out so I'm sure anyone else could too.

I run it with Bitminter client v1.4.2 and get pretty much the advertised hash rate give or take a MHS or two. It does run VERY hot but I don't have a sink on it and no fan so I'm sure they would cool it down a lot. I might get a USB hub and a few more of these and turn it into a little farm. If i do then I'll invest in some cooling for it. I'm definitely going to buy more of these (unless a better model comes out for this sort of cash) though and would recommend them.

A cheap, easy way to get introduced to the world of mining. Simple to set up, go to minepeon and follow instructions for getting a Raspberry Pi and this little miner all set up and earning.
To put things into perspective, looks like you'll earn £1 a month if you join a decent pool.

If you are searching for Asicminer Block Erupter, then you are probably very excited by the high price of Bitcoin at the moment, and would like to get in on the action. Unfortunately Block Erupter are slow, around 0.335 MH/s and combined with the high cost of each unit, you will not even get a ROI that you made in the Block Erupters themselves. I myself have ten in a powered USB hub, giving me around 3.5 GH/s, which may sound a lot, but it makes me around thirty odd pence a day with Slush mining pool. This figure does not take into account the cost of the electricity used by the Erupters, USB hub and my computer. It would take more than three or maybe four years for me to mine a single Bitcoin, by then I would have used more electricity than what the bitcoin is worth. At current mining difficulty, you will need around 40GH/s, mining 24/7 over a month to mine a single Bitcoin, which is equal to having one hundred and twenty Erupter. Over on Ebay, people are spending £549.99 on 10 Erupters, which means it would take them one year and twenty seven day to break even, assuming the following:-

1_the price of bitcoins stay stable or increase.
2_the difficulty stay the same for the next year (currently the difficulty goes up every couple of weeks +10% or more).
3_the price of electricity will not increase or even maybe go down (we can dream).
4_the Erupters are reliable and still working a year from now.
5_the computer they using to mine bitcoins hasn't died and needing to be replaced.

I would urge you to think before buying, because you are just throwing your money away like those on Ebay. Put your money into a high interest bank account, it will give you a better return.

Whilst the product is great and works flawlesly, you're never going to make any real money from running one.

But good for just experimenting with..

Great seller, with fast delivery.

This is a great introduction to mining bitcoins but dont be under any illusion. You will never make a profit from using a block erupter or break-even. Mining bitcoins is currently too time consuming to get a positive ROI and it will always continue to increase in difficulty. Using this item will cost you more in electricity than you will ever make mining bitcoins with it. This is a curiosity/hobbyist item only. Not an investment.

I recently got into Bitcoin mining and these little devices are really easy to set up. I was a complete novice before using these but they are pretty easy to get going. They aren't quite as easy as 'Plug and play' but they aren't too much more difficult. All you need is mining software and a pool to mine in. Once you have these things you can assign your bitcoin miners.

They do get hot so I would recommend getting some kind of cooling equipment. I have a little USB fan which keeps the devices relatively cool.

These won't make you rich over night but if you're interested in having an experiment with bitcoin mining then they are a great starting point.

You're probably not going to get super rich with these but it's fun as a little project and to support the emerging crypto-currency that is bitcoin. Three of these miners will get you 1.007 Ghps, which works out to about $0.7 to $1 a day at current exchange rates.

I just received mine today and well, I'm impressed! Quality design, small, and comes in a very unique portable case which is protected. It's plugged into my Raspberry Pi mining away at well over 335Mh/s quite a lot of time. Much faster than my AMD Radeon HD 6870 gaming graphics card (obviously). I recommend buying this if you want to mine and leave it on 24/7. I'm running it off solar power since it requires so little power!
