YOUR FEAR IS THEIR ENTERTAINMENT...
Andrew’s life is one of bored contentedness: a teenage daughter, a faithful wife, and a middle-class job. He even has a Mercedes. His life is without drama, and the comfort of middle-age is setting in.

That all changes when he refuses to buy a pack of cigarettes for the local gang of youths. Led by the emotionally unstable, and sadistic, Frankie, the gang target Andrew and his family in an escalating campaign of terror and violence that threatens their very lives. It isn’t long before Andrew starts to wish that he’d just brought those damn cigarettes.

5.0 out of 5 stars ASBO 17 Feb 2012
By M. Hill
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
After reading his other two books, "Final Winter" and "Animal Kingdom" I was rather fascinated about reading his Thriller "ASBO". Downloaded it, and gosh, its hard to put down! It follows the trials of a man who somehow manages to peev off the neighbour hood louts. (Anti-social-Behaviour-order)for those who dont know what an ASBO is. Its written with grit and has a rather sharp edge to it, far better than "Animal Kingdom" and even though there are no beasties of the monster variety in this, Iain makes do with the worst kind, the Human kind of beasties! Its scary as in what he mentions in this fictional book, is actually happening around us. Thats the scariest thought of the day! Have a good gritty read, would recommend ;) 5 stars ;)

2.0 out of 5 stars A Novel of Extremely Poor Credibility 31 July 2012
By Del
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This novel is certainly fast moving, but too fast for its own good. The plot is barely credible - for example, the victim's reluctance to call for help, and his freedom to roam after murdering someone in a public place. Most of the characters are thinly drawn caricatures and stereotypes: the middle class victims: the unstable chief villain who is a product of his unfortunate upbringing; the slut of a mother; the kindly police; the harrassed hospital staff etc. I was also irritated by the bizarre mid-Atlantic style, with the use of "gotten" and "trunk" (for boot) which was incongruous with the British setting. Not a satisfying read overall.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping and horrific thriller! 16 Feb 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the second of Iain Rob Wright's books that I've read, and I haven't been able to put it down! It's a terrifying story, especially because (without giving too much away) the things that happen in the book can and do happen in real life - probably more than we know!
I really enjoy reading books that shock me, and horrify me, make me feel slightly uncomfortable, and this didn't disappoint. Brilliant! I only finished reading 'The Final Winter' a couple of days ago and loved the links between the two books, and some of the characters popping up again.

This is a really well written book, which drew me in, and like 'The Final Winter' made me feel completely involved.

I will be recommending this book to anyone who loves being on the edge of their seat, and loves good and realistic characters, and who loves something that really makes them think! I can guarantee they won't be disappointed!

I read this book in a few hours, I thought it was very real and tells of some people's state of mind ,where it stems from. I will recommend this to friends.
