I've only just received this cool-box so these are early impressions. It's light-weight and reasonably capacious. The reason I chose this one was that I wanted to be able to use it in the car and also with normal AC sockets. The cooling fan, fortunately, is quiet as I intend to use it in hotel rooms when we're on the move to keep fruit juice, etc., chilled. The box has a fabric casing that has useful pockets that can store the cables and plugs when not in use. It has a sturdy carrying handle. When using mains power it chilled the interior of the box down by about the promised 16 to 18 degrees below the ambiant temperature. I can see that on a very hot day, when placed in a car, the interior of the cool-box will not be able to achieve the kind of temperature achievable in a domestic fridge, but certainly better than nothing.
The only problem I had was over the adaptor plug that converts the two pin plug into a UK three pin. At first I couldn't get the two pin part to stay in the adaptor until I realized that, unlike a shaver adaptor, you have to unscrew the adaptor, place the two pin part in and then screw the two parts of the adaptor together to hold the two pin part securely.
Update 23 March 09: Just a minor word of warning, I placed the box in a very cool utility room (around 10 degrees C) and plugged the device into the mains to pre-cool the interior prior to a journey next day. By next morning the interior temperature of the box was minus 5 degrees C, which would have frozen/frosted food in the box had I had anything in it. It really is designed for a warmer environment as it reduces the interior temp by about 15 to 18 degrees and doesn't appear to be thermostatically regulated.
It did work well in our hotel bedroom to keep some fresh juice nice and cool.

I would recommend this cool box for anyone who travels alot. I thought it was a bit expensive but not in the least. One thing in the discription it doesn't tell you is that there is a mains adaptor included with the price. Brilliant for me taking food to work as I stay out a few nights each week. I can plug it into the socket in my hotel room and I can still keep food and drinks chilled for whole time I'm away. This cool box will save me lots of money.
