Bought this to replace an old stock AMD CPU Fan, which was getting noisy (it was 5 years old). This cooler has a bigger fan, but spins slower, and hence super quiet. I had to open the PC case to check it was working.. I used Artic Thermal paste to fit. This Fan cools the CPU approx 5 degrees cooler than the old stock fan I replaced. bargain for less than a tenner, and about 15 minutes to fit. My pc is much quieter now..

Fan itself is a fair bit bigger than it looks in the picture, I read other customers reviews and they stated it was a large fan, I was still surprised at how large it was when it turned up about 6 days after dispatch date.

Fan sits very close to the first RAM module on my motherboard (Although I am using this on a Micro ATX motherboard in a Micro ATX case), I could maybe squeeze a credit card or two between the fan and the RAM module, in terms of performance, this fan does an excellent job and keeps my system running much cooler, maximum of 25 degrees at idle versus a maximum of about 46 degrees with stock cooler, even under load this CPU cooler performs well, also comes with pre-applied thermal compound, fitting was a doddle as it is compatible with the existing AMD bracket on the motherboard. Bargain at £9.70 including delivery, can't recommend this product highly enough.

Fitting is seriously easy, as for the people who said the pictures in the instructions were unclear, I've no idea what they're talking about, the pictures were extremely clear and there was absolutely no need for any text, as the pictures are self-explanatory, simply remove the product from the packaging, loosen the screws on the fan slightly, remove the old stock cooler, seat the fan, fiddle with the clip on brackets on the side of the new fan, tighten the screws on the fan, and connect up the CPU fan cable to the motherboard.

Fiddling with the mounting clips/hooks on the side of this fan is the most annoying and time consuming bit, every other part of the installation is done very quickly. Having said that, this fan took me no more than 10 minutes to install, and this is the first time I've ever installed a new CPU fan.

No software needed, simply reboot, and you're good to go.

Again, excellent product, works very very well, and at an absolute steal of a price.

My existing stock AMD fan was starting to make disturbing clicking noises, so I tried this as a replacement. I was a bit apprehensive at first, as both heatsink and fan are quite a bit larger than the original, but all worked out well.
Fitting it went pretty smoothly; I was able to clean off the old dried-up paste with white spirit, and the new heatsink has a thermal pad on it, meaning no extras were necessary. In fact when I didn't get it correctly positioned at first it allowed me to slide it across a bit without any problems. Working within the confines of the case made it a little fiddly, but it wasn't the problem I feared it might be. There was no obstruction of other components or cables.
The plastic frame in which the fan is mounted is attached to the main frame by rubber standoffs, which are presumably to reduce vibration. How much difference this makes I don't know, but it certainly didn't do any harm.
Being a larger, lower-speed fan than the original makes it noticeably quieter, which is a definite bonus, and from initial checks seems to keep the CPU slightly cooler as well (39°C instead of 43°C).
So, in summary: fitting is straightforward; don't be put off. No need for extras such as thermal paste remover, or extra thermal paste for fitting. Significantly quieter than the original fan, and cooler too.

I bought this cooler to replace a stock AMD cooler and it is around 1/10th as loud under pressure.

It also fits in the stock AMD bracket, so you don't have to remove everything to fit it. In fact, the fitting only took around 5 minutes (and I'm inexperienced at upgrading). Thermal paste was included and pre-applied.

Fantastic value for money.

The saying 'you get what you pay for' doesn't exist with this cpu cooler! Bought this cooler to cool my amd phenom II x2 555 for my build and it cooled it excellently! It's very quiet and comes with pre applied arctic cooling MX-2 thermal grease. What more can i say? Overall it's superb value for money and does exactly what it says on the tin!
Note: On the picture the fan blades are black, the real 64 pro comes with white fan blades (which personally i think looks better).

as per subject - I have bought this to replace the stock cooler on my old sempron 3000+. It sits perfectly on the processor. You need to remember though: -loosen up the screws on the brackets so they can reach lower and attach to the socket. Do not detach them completely though.. As said earlier - this will work on older Socket 754! Quiet, and fast rotating fan! Has a 4pin connector which I have plugged to a 3-pin fan connector on the MOBO - bios will still control this so no worries.
