For the price, you can't find a better handbook for electrical design. Naturally the subject matter is more focused to radio related subjects, but still very general. My only gripe is that the pages are printed too close to the center and it is hard to read the innermost text without practically destroying the binding.

This book is a great resource for all things related to ham radio, RF, and electronics. Nothing is covered in too much depth, but a book of this size couldn't. Instead it touches on all subjects in enough detail to be informative while trying to minimize the math. It includes a CD with software to help design filters and predict antenna performance. Just buy it! You won't regret it.

The ARRL has been polishing and improving this huge wealth of information for decades. It is an impressive resource covering everything HAM radio related. There are additional ARRL publications if you want a very detailed discussion of a specific subject but this book will take you most of the way. I really liked that the book includes a CDROM that is a complete copy of the ARRL 2012 book so I can put it on a laptop and refer to it if I am on a trip and have a question. Overall, worth every penny..
