5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent read - I highly reccommend it! 25 Aug 2000

Though I am a big fan of all Mary Higgins Clark's books, this one particularly fascinated me. What seems an open and shut murder case, suddenly turns into a psychological mystery. Each time you think that the case is over and the mystery has been solved, another twist makes its self apparent. It is obvious that a great deal of research into mental illness has gone into this book and I found it very interesting from a factual angle as well. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final page.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book has wow factor! 26 Oct 2004
Having read quite a few of MHC novels now, this one has to be my current favourite!
I was finding myself saying "Just one more page" at 4am in the morning, knowing I had to be up for work at 6am!
The story is both touching and frightening! telling the story of Laurie Kenyon, who was abducted at the age of four. Sarah a loving and caring sister who stands by her when Laurie is charged with the murder of professor Allan Grant 17 years later.
A psychological thriller that will keep you up till the wee hours, desperate for the finale!

3.0 out of 5 stars Different 15 Sep 2014

I was given a Mary Higgins Clark book, I'll walk alone, a couple of months ago and was immediately hooked. I read it in 24 hours, I enjoyed so much. I picked another book up and again was gripped and read it quickly. I did notice a pattern emerging and was curious to see if this book followed the same script!

It thankfully didn't, but for some reason I was not as hooked as I had been with the first two books. Maybe the plot was so incredulous, or the characters either wishy washy or just not believable, I'm not sure. Maybe it was because it didn't follow "the formula" I don't know. I will have to read another MHC to see if I do like the formulaic plots.

One thing that is prevalent throughout her books that drives me crazy,is the time being referred to as 10 of 7 pm - in the UK it would be 10 to 7 or 10 past 7 so you are in no doubt where the 10 is of the hour!!!!

I have read just about every book Mrs Higgins has written. She is by far one of today's most exciting writers; not one of her books is dull or boaring; she holds you on your seat or keeps you up till all hours of the morning unable to put the book down until you find out who the villian is. subject matter very well reshearched in all of her books;as i say she is trully an amazing and gifted writter whom i enjoy and look forward to reading her books.

4.0 out of 5 stars I had to read this in one sitting 8 Jun 2000
Format:Audio Cassette
I don't know how accurate or possible the story is - but to be honest I really don't care. Higgins Clark has characters that everyone can identify with, interesting plot lines and a use of language which draws a reader into the story completely. These skills are shown at their best in 'All around the town'. Thanks very much Mrs HC!
