Product Description

Alien Retrograde Infectious Amnesia

Today, Jack caught a bug at work. He catches a bus home. By the time he disembarks in the desert town of Rosamond, all the other passengers and the driver have fuzzy heads. Jack had caught an amnesia bug, and it’s infectious.

Imagine the ramifications:

The passengers arrive home, infecting family; some shop en route infecting everyone they meet. The bus driver receives more passengers giving them change for last week’s prices and today’s amnesia. Some passengers work at the power plant, the water treatment works, the hospital, fire station. All shut down in weeks.

One man, Ryder Nape, realizes what’s going on, but can he persuade friends to barricade themselves in a secluded valley, hiding from the amnesia bug?

5.0 out of 5 stars Scifi meets Scifact 26 Nov 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
When a suitcase-like object bumps into a space station and is retrieved, then sent down to earth,it triggers a mental holocaust on mankind. 'Alien Retrogade Infectious Amnesia'is released, when the technicians open the case, affecting man's ability to remember, and the victims forget more and more of their life. But is such a concept inconceivable in reality? Not when a writer of the calibre of Geoff Nelder puts pen to paper. Immaculate research sucks the reader into a world where Airliners turn back from their destination and head home, riots and general mayhem are bringing earth to a standstill.A saviour is needed, and Ryder Nape is that man.The fast moving story mainly centres on a few unaffected individuals, headed by Ryder, living in a remote area of North Wales which I know well, so can vouch for the accuracy of the scenic description by Geoff. Will they be able to save mankind from the inexorable spread of the infection, and when a second suitcase bumps into the Space Station, what will happen? No more information. You have enough nuggets from a cracking thriller to order now in time for Christmas, and enjoy a powerhouse of writing from a superb writer. I think this is the best book Geoff has written so far. Buy it...NOW!

5.0 out of 5 stars ARIA 9 Nov 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
The wonderful background to this book made such a compelling read that my wife hid the Kindle while we were on holiday in France. She had good reason because the story line stayed with me while I chewed over some of the nuggets of thought provocation that had been sprinkled throughout the text, made all the more poignant by the contrast with what we see as `a normal life'. The huge research that was needed to compose this story made it read so that my over active `don't be daft needle' hardly trembled, and at the same time I was carried along by the human content that struggled all too realistically with the consequences of ARIA. This novel does not shy away from the horror of what unfolds, but at the same time does not dwell on it and there is just enough levity to make sure the page turning keeps up a frantic rate. Any author would have been proud to produce this story concept and Geoff Nelder lays on just enough of his well crafted detail to make it gripping and believable. Oh - and did I mention? Thoughtful

Geoff, well done. Good read. Would make one damn fine SciFi series. Reminds me of the old Quatermass series. Looking forward to the next in the series.
