I bought this for my 6 year old Coolermaster Wave PC case, which is currently fitted out with a Pentium quad core but has been getting quite loud lately. Cleaned all of my fans out with my vacuum's brush attachment (inc graphics card and CPU) and used this to replace one at the rear with a noisy bearing. Given that its one of five other fans that weren't replaced, I can't be specific about its noise levels / cooling ability. However I can say that it fitted, came with the smaller three pin connector so I could plug it directly into my motherboard, and my PC is now overall much quieter and cooler.
The one thing of use here is it comes with the smaller three pin connector so it can plug directly into your motherboard instead of plugging to the power supply like some, which means your system can adjust its speed as required.
I can't think why they felt this little nugget wasn't important enough for their product description.
Oh and buy it fom Amazon themselves because I tried several of the other sellers and they ALL TRIED TO OVERCHARGE ME FOR THE STATED POSTAGE.

I purchased this fan for a friend who was complaining that his computer was getting stupidly hot (I'd say mildly warm). the fan was just like any other fan installing wise. Four screws, job done. my friend says that he can not hear the fan and that it has cooled his computer down a lot as he puts it (few degrees to me).

I won't pretend these are the quietest fans i've ever heard, but for the air they move and the price they cost i really cannot complain. If you plan to use Molex to hook up fans then these aren't the ones for you as it sounds like you've put your head into a 747's engine compartment. However if you can use BIOS or software to control speeds via the board then these are beautifully silent.

Biggest quibble is...there's a reason why the blade design is called "Ninja Blade" they do actually cut you.

Seems to be the same fan on the pro 7 cooler. This is by far the best brand for cooling fans. This fan and my cooler both run at the same rpm around 2400-2500 and they are very quiet. I have bought 2 other branded fans and have returned them as they are poor. I definetly will be sticking to artic cooling from now on as they definetly make good quality gear.

Im using this on my cases side panel (picture up top) to shift air away from the graphics card and it does that perfectly. As an intake fan though? Not so good. Shifts the air, sure, but you'd have to put up with a slight humming noise while it does so.

I also did not get a "PWM" fan (which is 4 pin). Sure, I can control it via my BIOS or Speedfan (thanks to the motherboard) but otherwise it was not PWM.

Does what it says on the tin! Keeps my PhenomII X6 1090T cool despite it having the stock cooler.

This fan really does shift allot of air, before, the GPU and CPU fan would throttle furiously on full load, with a measly 8cm case fan, I replaced it with the F12 and now, even on full load, no other fan throttles audibly! My case has a top grill and if paper is placed on it, the force of the airflow from this fan levitates it!

The only drawback is that it does have a fairly audible Whir. Not loud, but enough for me to consider a replacement in the future.

Personally, I would recommend, if your motherboard supports it, to go for the PCM version. It may reduce the whir.

Quiet at the lowest speed settings but noisy as hell at max settings. Don't use them unless they're connected to 3 pin headers on the motherboard & can be speed controlled through the bios. Unbearable if connected directly to molex connectors from PSU.

First of all, this was an excellent purchase with a very prompt delivery, at an almost ridiculous price. The fan itself is very quiet and even comes with a small enclosed pack of special mounting screws which sometimes have to be bought separately.

I can't fault this product.

Just one small problem and it's nothing to do with the fan itself. I wanted to see how the noise level would change so I plugged in the fan, turned on the PC and then slowly moved the fan to it's mounting position in the rear panel. Noise levels increased significantly and I can only assume it is the component layout in the PC itself which is causing the problem. In my PC there is the 12cm power supply fan blowing down, the CPU fan blowing across and then this fan at right angles to both, all within 5cm of each other. The turbulence must be significant, hence the noise.

I'm afaid I want a quiet PC so I will put up with a little extra heat (which isn't that bad anyway). Sorry fan! At least it didn't cost much.
