This book is amazing,
the book outlines everything on the aqa syllubus and explains it in understandably and amazing detail, a perfect book for anyone who has to teach themselves, a well worthy buy for the hard workers. 10 out of 10.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless for every grade level of study 2 Jun 2011
By T.Owen
Format:Paperback
I've never been so disapointed in a revision book before this.

It's construct is illogical and presents key Philosophers in a difficult order, not always showing the philosophers near the arguments they are most relevant to. Sometimes not even fully explaining the views of the most key thinkers, in various theories.

The writing in the book is awkward, as it over-itterates easy points, making them seem more complex then nessesary. Then it misses out the parts of the course that areactually quite complex.

R.Bowie also seems to input random tangents inbetween theories about subjects that, yes, do have some relevance to what he was talking about, but have no relevance to the core A2 course, and could never legitimatly be discussed in an exam, so while these points appear interesting and well thought they are, in actual fact, completly useless.

All in all, I wouldn't advise anyone taking their exam to read this book. Whether you're aiming for an E or an A*, as the book over complicates the basics and ignores the more advanced parts of he course.
