Does your Macbook Pro have either a D-Sub (blue VGA), HDMI or a Thunderbolt/Displayport output? If so, it'll work fine. If its a recent macboo pro, it'll probably have tb/displayport connection. I use a displayport to macbook air thunderbolt connection and the picture is great.

Yes, without any issues, simply use the HDMI, VGA D-sub or Display port output from your laptop. Within windows go to Control panel > Display > Change Display setting and setup the secondary monitor, choose either extend (this is the most common setting) or duplicate which will create a clone of your laptop screen. If your laptop has a DVI output port then use this over the D-SUB for an improved image quality, simply purchase a DVI to HDMI adapter or lead.
