5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Monitor 25 Sep 2011
I did a lot of research prior to getting this monitor and I have not been disappointed. The screen is large which is what I wanted, but as with these new LCD panels it is very slim so does not take up a lot of the desk. Colours are vivid and this panel is fast - response times are quick with no sign of lag or flicker even with online multiplayer FPS games (Battlefield 3 is awesome).

Set up was easy. One real benefit which I had not read about before - there is no 'power brick'- the mains lead goes straight into the back of the panel which means it does not add much to the maze of wiring behind the desk. Externally it's not the prettiest monitor - the standard dark grey surround, not the currently fashionable glossy 'piano black' - but to be honest, that's not even a criticism - I did not buy it for it's external beauty - just for how it displays and performs.

Great panel at a really good price!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Monitor for the price 19 Aug 2012

When I first connected the monitor using HDMI the picture had a black band around it, so I tried using a DVI Cable and no band (using the same resolution 1920x1080).
I did some research and it turns out that Radeon Graphics card are set to 'Under scan' by 15% on the HDMI output, after altering this to 0% (using 'Catalyst') the HDMI picture filled the whole screen.I also had to alter the computers 'Sound' settings to get sound via the HDMI cable.
I appreciate the above is not really a Review of the Monitor, but I hope it may help other people with set up problems.

After reading some of the other reviews I was a little confused as to the number of USB Ports on the Monitor 2 or 4 ? It turns out to be 4, 2 on the side of the monitor and 2 underneath by the Input sockets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bargain price and top quality product!! 12 Oct 2011

Having seen a 22" AOC monitor working in full HD for the past 9 months, I was keen to finally make full use of my graphics card.
I was running two 17" vga monitors in dual span mode and was worried about going back to a single monitor. Therefore, I was looking for a good size whilst not blowing the budget.
The AOC E2795VH seemed to tick all the boxes.
Having set up and run the monitor using a hdmi cable to give full 1080p viewing I am not disappointed.
I am sure that arguably with a monitor of this size a higher overall resolution would give better results, but I am happy enough with the quality of the screen and resolution.
HD video looks very impressive and overall the difference in sharpness is so much better.
I suppose depending on what you are upgrading from this monitor will either seem amazing or will just fulfill the need for a larger screen.
The built in speakers are nothing special but are ok for what they are.
The only minor grumble with the product is that the monitor only seems to come with a 2 pin euro style mains plug, although this was not a problem for me.
Overall a well deserved 5 stars for a quality product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great monitor for the money 3 Jun 2012

I use a MacBook 7,1 (mid-2010), and bought this monitor together with a Neet MiniDisplayPort to HDMI adapter. I'm very pleased with my setup; I get sound through the HDMI cable straight to the monitor's speakers, the screen is huge (!) and the image is surprisingly clear considering the resolution:size ratio (i.e. as far as I'm concerned, it's a perfectly clear image, although a professional graphic designer looking for a 27" monitor might want something with a slightly higher resolution). Love it to bits!

Pros:

- Huge screen! Totally love having all the extra desktop space, and watching movies/playing games has never looked better!
- Great response time; any lag while gaming is down to my computer hardware, as the screen itself handles anything I throw at it.
- USB ports are a LIFE SAVER! Cannot stress how great it is having the in-built hub; 4 USB 2.0 full-speed ports make life SO much easier, and they accept any device I plug in (i.e. they're powered ports, so bus-powered hard drives are fine)!
- Totally plug-and-play on Mac and Windows and is perfectly ready to go as soon as you connect the cables; just ignore the included driver CD as all the software on it is pointless.
- Pretty decent price considering what you're getting for the money.

Cons:

- Speakers aren't amazing; I mean, any monitor's in-built speakers aren't going to compare to a proper sound system, and these ones are fine for everyday use. But they sound a bit tinny when listening to music; iTunes' equaliser needs a bit of tinkering to get the best sound, for example.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice monitor at a great price 2 April 2012

This is my second LCD monitor from AOC, my first being around 5 years old and still giving good service 8+ hours a day. Just unpacked this new one today and was pleasantly surprised (at this price bracket) to find in the box: HDMI; VGA; USB; 3.5mm audio cables in addition to the power cable.

As mentioned by other reviewers, picture quality is great and there are plenty of menu options for adjustments (including sRGB colourspace - haven't explored how good that is yet).

The only initial concern I have had so far was that, out of the box, active display area via HDMI did not fill the screen (being about 24.5" across the diagonal instead of 27"). Because of this mismatch, the screen was not running in native resolution so looked less than perfect when displaying text.

The problem was not with the monitor but turned out to be a known "feature" of the ATI Radeon card fitted on my laptop. Not obvious as to what was going on, nor as to how to fix it. A quick search found this...
[...]
... which transformed the display. Now clean, native, full-frame images.

As mentioned earlier, I haven't yet played around with colour balance settings/calibration but my initial impression is that it is nicely balanced and perfectly usable for displaying photographic work, possibly even for more critical editing work with a little persuasion/calibration? I wouldn't expect photographic studio performance but this monitor is looks to be fine for most non-professional photo editing & display use (I'll have to invest in a colour calibration tool now ;) ).

In summary, a great performer and well worth the money. Ideal for complex office/spreadsheet/CAD work, which was my main reason for purchasing.
