I just plug monitor in and set up.Excellent monitor no pixel missing. And seems clear and very large.Had a ASUS 22inch but this seems clearer.
Anyway after you plug in Windows Vista and 7. Set it up OK but when you go into monitor advanced settings its a default PNP monitor. Put the CD that comes with the screen and update the drivers so it will be 2436. Then go to computer and run the setup file in drivers file, english called i-menu. This puts all the settings in windows and on task bar. You can change allsorts with the mouse. This is not mentioned on the box or the sheet.
Anyway a excellent monitor with a 3 year warrany.

I bought this monitor as a replacement for a 17 inchand am very impressed it has touch controls for adjustment and for someone like me not too "techie" it was simple. there is no glare from screen as it is matt
I do not know how good or bad the speakers are as I have a seperate sound system but I did find gaming with xbox was good the screen is big enough for all I do with it
I bought this size for its price and Iwould recommend it on that alone as I thought I would only ever do this once

Because of the number of moans I have had about this review I am updating it to say - "I would buy this screen again, it is a great size and a lovely picture." However, I will leave the original comments in place about set-up and the KVM switch because someone with a similar issue may be helped by knowing that a KVM can cause these types of issues:

My main reason for picking this one was the height. Many of the widescreens are only 10 inches deep, you gain little with that by going widescreen for application work. This screen is nearly 12 inches deep, so much less scrolling required. The screen looks good, the monitor surround is nice and now it is working properly it is a fantastically clear picture but be warned if it doesn't plug and play straight away, dig in for a long slog to sort it out.It has taken me about 4 hours to get this working properly. The instructions in the box are diagramatic where to plug the cables, nothing else. There is no help on drivers or troubleshooting. The disk with the monitor is poor and offers little help. I basically ended up reading forums of other desperates who bought similar. Trying to use the controls via the monitor is almost impossible, you have to install a program called i-menu (would have been nice if they had mentioned that somewhere obvious). I have dreadful problems with getting resolution (and drivers) correct. I bought from PC world not Amazon because I needed one quick so I paid £30 more than the list price here, I rand pc world support who told me the monitor was obviously faulty and to return it...hilarious! The monitor was not faulty it was clearly just a set up issue. I tried the AOC website, it doesn't work properly either in trems of finding support numbers or using on-line mail form)...which says a lot about the company I think. After much fiddling, it turns out the problem was with my KVM switch. I'm going to buy another KVM switch and hope that solves it.

Like Sally I bought this from PC World because it was cheaper and I could get it right away. I am normally a very loyal Amazon customer.

Setting up was a doddle but I found the picture too bright and that was when my trouble started. The on-disc documentation was dire.I could not figure out how the on-screen controls worked and I could not get the main controls on i-menu to work at all. I trawled the internet for ages and was conned into buying driver management software because that was where I got to whenever I looked for solutions. The AOC European website was a dead loss with dodgy links and useless driver files.

Hours later I ended up on the AOC US site and found a decent manual, You can find it here here: [...] . It was actually for the 2436vW version but it explained how the on screen monitor controls work and what all the symbols mean. My i-menu is still not working. I suspect it is because it is not fully compatible with windows 7. Rather ominously the documentation on disk ends with Vista in its explanations.

Anyway after all that work I have two fabulous looking monitors which are bright but don't blind me. I have acres of work space and the price was very reasonable. I have hopes of getting my money back on the driver management software and am content.

Pity these guys did not get their act together on documentation.

For the price I can only say "wow". Amazon service as always superb.

I bought and returned an LG 21.5" because it was just too small in terms of height.
The height of this screen is almost the same as my older 19" monitor if you are wondering.

Brightness compared to the old 19" Benq is much better.

The general packaging and appearance of the AOC was far superior to the LG even though it's a budget brand.

On old XP you do need to install drivers, but on Windows7 plug and play.
Just works.
Also includes audio (though not brilliant ones but frankly did not expect to get any speakers at this price). There is a single USB extension as well to bring a USB port closer if you are using a desktop.

Very easy to set-up and use, the speakers are not 100% however for use as a monitor at work they are fine.
Clear screen and good for spreadsheets, etc
