This was appalling.

Aside from the fact I didn't do enough research, and the fact that it didn't work with my motherboard (not socket, out of date chip-set) it was very disappointing.

When I received this item, it came in an amazon flat cardboard thing that you would normally receive something like a book in. When I open this, I find a small black box, with the anti-static warning symbol on the front, and "Optimum Packaging" written on the back. When I opened it, I found 2 pieces of very loose foam, and a processor, with the pins facing the foam sandwiching the processor. I turn the processor around to reveal at least 20 bent pins in each corner. After painstakingly bending all of them back, I put it into my socket to find it didn't work, but that I credit to myself having an out of date motherboard.
Somewhere this packet had been under something, which had applied pressure to the black box, and crushing the pins. Not happy at all, it took me 2 hours to bend the pins back to perfection. Wish I'd sent it back. Cannot rate performance, because I never got to use it. I may edit my review when I have a motherboard that works with it. PLEASE REPLACE THE MIS-NAMED OPTIMUM PACKAGING!

Tips for imrovement: plastic shell with pin holes in, surrounded by soft foam, then stronger foam, then in the box, then, not flat packaged.
