Bought this chip about a month ago for my first build, I wanted a high end build with lots of room for expansion. I used this with the AsRock FM2A75 PRO4 motherboard, (also done a review for that gives more info) and together they pair perfectly. On chip graphics are perfect for everyday use and light(er) gaming. Very easy to install, one of my greatest fears in building my own system was bending CPU pins when inserting the chip, but that was not the case at all. I have used the stock fan assembly, which seems fine at the mo, may upgrade in future. The speed seems fine and I have not overclocked yet, probably never will.

All in all a brilliant chip. Well worth the 90 odd pounds ;)

A great chip for it's price, with it's integrated graphics I can run games like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2 on medium-ish settings at a healthy FPS of about 35-50 with DX11. Temperatures still quite low at 35 Celsius with the stock cooler. Great product from AMD.

This APU handles most games on fair to decent graphics settings upto 1080p. Knocking the resolution down to 720p and you can run most titles on max settings. For the casual gamer this is great. It handles titles such as LOTRO and FALLEN EARTH on max settings.

The multi threading capabilities on the CPU leave much to be desired, I've upgraded from an old Phenom 9950BE 2.6GHz quad core ( 4 cores not 2 modules ). That processor handled multi threading FAR better than this.

In real world terms, the processor is much faster than the old phenom. However encoding a video into x.264, while watching a film and playing a game in a virtual machine this APU crumbles and cannot cope. The Phenom could handle this situation.

Single tasking or doing no more than 2 tasks and the APU is superior.
Overall encoding times are basically the same between the 2 chips.

This chips power saving features are far better than the power hungry 140 watt phenom, plus it has an inbuilt GPU to further reduce general power usage.

basing my experience from the phenom 9950BE to this APU i'll list the following pro's and cons.

PROS:
Good power saving over the phenom
Good single task processing over the phenom
Fair/Decent ( mainstream/budget ) graphics capability ( this is NOT top end by any means ).

CONS:
Crumbles under heavy multi tasking

Summary:
If your looking for a low cost system thats capable of every day tasks such as watching videos, playing music and browsing the web then this chip can handle that easily.

I got this for my entry level gaming set-up, and I have to say I'm impressed. This CPU is plenty fast for most peoples needs, and it certainly isn't bottlenecking the system.

I chose this over the Intel Core i3 because of three main reasons:
-Overclocking
-LGA1155 is a dead socket, FM2 has support for Richland and Kaveri APUs
-The iGPU would enable me to have more graphics performance from a 6670 DDR5.

So it performs like a core i3, pretty much meeting it in every test apart from single threaded applications, but they are often basic now and can run off most CPUs without problem.

It would have been nice to see L3 cache on this CPU- I do feel that the lack of it is a bit of a bottleneck (however this could be challenged as the FX4100 does have L3 cache, and is outperformed by this APU) but what you really have here is a £50 Quad Core CPU and a £45 GPU. So no complaints.

I would reccommend anyone looking for an entry level gaming solution to pick up this chip, it will also suit office and HTPC needs.

The stock cooler included in the box whilst being all aluminium (suggesting this APU doesn't run hot) does a good job of keeping the processor cool, I'm yet to hit 50 degrees C.

Nothing to say.It is just great. It has an i-GPU which means no GPU is needed.Easily overclocked to 4.2GHZ.Just great 5/5

This is my second AMD chip I am using. I've always been an Intel guy. My first AMD, bought in 2010, was (and still is) a pain in the you know what. However, I kept listening to the good stories some people said about AMD. I decided to give it a try another time, with the firm conviction that if it gave me trouble, I would never buy AMD again.

I am happy to say that this AMD chip is everything I was looking for in a processor. It has worked extremely well. Fast, efficient, and capable of performing whatever you can throw at it (June 2013). If you are looking for a processor that can deliver (with some basic gaming) this is certainly one to consider.
