5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating 17 Mar 2013
By HR
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a very interesting memoir. I became so absorbed in Tammy's journey that I read best part of it in one day. The author is extremely likeable and I found myself willing to succeed albeit that I was sometimes a bit irritated that she didn't stand up to her husband a bit more.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very good read 18 May 2013
By Sue G
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am still reading this book and am finding it an excellent read. It's very descriptive of the trials and tribulations, although I wish Tammy would smack Tom in the mouth on occasion. Am finding it hard to put this book down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Alaska Bound 19 Feb 2013
By J. L.
Format:Kindle Edition
This was a really good true story and Tammy tells it really well. I enjoyed vicariously sharing their adventures and feelings in Alaska through their trials and tribulations, a very enjoyable and sometimes funny read.

4.0 out of 5 stars entertaining 30 Jan 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this book although I have to say the author has the patience of a saint - by 3/4 through the book I wished she had turned on her husband rather than a non-threatening bear....which event disappointed me. One very hard working woman with multi talents - one pig headed man - a good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars fascinating 27 Jan 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is the first review I have ever done for a book. I cannot recommend this book highly enough, I had a job putting it down until I had finished. You get drawn into the story which really gives you an insight to an adventure that most people can only read about.
Whatever you do, read it!

4.0 out of 5 stars a good read but frustrating 27 Jan 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The book is a not put down book in parts but why she continued the nightmare by going to Alaska after all the Oregon problems caused by a very selfish and pig headed husband defeats me. You get to the point of wanting to give her a good shake and him something stronger - maybe that is the point - you get involved with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars an interesting read
I enjoyed Tammy Jones' honesty about herself.
On the downside I think there should have been more proof reading before being published.

1.0 out of 5 stars And the bear was killed because....?
Had there been a good reason to kill the 'beautiful wildlife in its natural environment' (author's words) there might have been 5 stars as the book is well written and interesting. Read more

I really enjoyed this book, although I couldn't understand why a bear had to be shot just for a trophy?
