Great product and very easy installation.
Only 2 wires from the panel to the electronic control unit and another 2 wires from the control unit to the battery. It's that easy.
Charges with any signs of light in the sky. At around 8pm, it was still charging at a rate of 50mA which is already half of what a small trickle charger would charge with the Sun pointed at 90 degrees angle directly at its panel.
So in the summer, you could probably get 16 hours of charge a day, at different charging rates according to light intensity of course.
It was also lighter than I expected and it was pretty easy to carry it on the public transports to get to the canal where the boat was.
No more wasting diesel, polluting the air or carbonizing the combustion chamber idling the engine for long periods and not to mention noise pollution bothering the boating neighbours.
The control unit (little box) is the brain of the charging system, keeping its charging at optimum levels including a temperature sensor which also adapts the charge according to ambient temperature variations.
In the winter, with a shorter time of available light in the sky I might just buy another 80W panel to cope with my electrical consumption needs.
That will be a very quick job as I can just use the same control unit which copes with 2 x 80W panels.
