ill keep this as short as possible. shopping for headphones is confusing and often a let down, but this is never the case with AKG. all their headphones i have purchased have had stunning sound quality. the K81DJ sound quality is excellent, especially considering the low-medium budget price. they really excel in the bass area, it is tight and very punchy. the styling is terrific they look a million dollars, and are just the right size to look good for portable use too, nothing geeky about them whatsoever!

the build quality is also very good, they feel expensively made. anyone concerned about comfort/clamping can get around this in easily in a matter of seconds by simply bending the headband gently in the centre to suit your head size/preference. sound leakage is one of the lowest i have ever come across, another thumbs up. so often, most headphones turn out to be a waste of money. AKG is an exception to the rule. overall i think these are on the verge of the perfect headphone at this price bracket, and well worth your hard earned cash.

Love these cans, they are indeed a tad bass heavy, but not at the expense of other frequencies.
They sound way better than the 'trendy' Dr Beats headphones and are way less money. Seem really well built too, no issues so far in 2 months of solid use.

these headphones are fine for listening to music on your laptop but as soon as i took them out to dj with, they had broken before i even got to the club. the wires going into the bottom of the headphones are not very stable so the can be ripped out quickly if caught on something like mine did.

great sound, very cheap, very breakable

I have had many headfones but these have been the best by far. They are realy comfortable, even after wearing them for 2 hours plus. Cant find any fault on the sound quality as the bass and treble are spot on....

Also the headphones certainly does its job at cuttin background noise out as my family have realy had to shout at me just to get my attention. It's a shame that the top mark for rating products goes as far as five star as I would of given this product 10 stars.

I've owned dozens of headphones, pro ones included. These AKG headphones are amazing, loud and clear with heavy bass. For the price one certainly gets every pennies worth. I listen to Bass Generator music and on these headphones the sound is incredible.

The sound quality and sound isolation on these cans are decent for the price, but the build quality is terrible. My friend and I have both had a pair of these which have both broken in 4/5 months. We used them to DJ so may get thrown about a bit, but these are marketed as DJ headphones.

I saw another reviewer say that these were alright just to use as normal headphones and not to DJ with because then they are less likely to break. I totally disagree with that. These are the most uncomfortable headphones I've ever used and if I use them for more than an hour my head and ears start to hurt. Would not buy again.

I don't see the point in spending silly money on headphones, as there's a fair chance that they will get lost or broken at some point.

That said, it's nice to have good sound quality and these deliver a nice full range of sound. There is plenty of bass but I wouldn't call it overpowering.

I find the fit to be comfortable but yes, they are a bit snug. I wear glasses so need to move the side arms up slightly to avoid them being pressed into the side of my head. No big deal and I can move around freely without either the phones or my glasses falling off.

The cord is a bit too long for commuting and I've been accidentally snagged by some clumsy berk who got his arm tangled up in it.

On balance, if I lost these or broke them, I'd buy the same again.

I purchased this product a few months ago and was please with the light weight, portability and sound quality given the price. However, after a few weeks of use, one day I pulled the headphone out of the pouch and noticed that the cable had gotten tangled up. It took an eternity to untamable and because the cable is thin and of poor quality it was impossible to fully untwist it. Now, annoyingly one cable keep getting twisted while being used and has to be untangled while mixing.
As they say, you get what you pay for. Clearly AKG had to cut some corners to make these headphones at this price and it shows in the little things. Overall, pay another 15-20 pounds and you can buy something more durable.
