Casio now have a perfectly presentable 88 key touch-sensitive electronic piano for around £600, but as with all of them, the amp and speakers are rubbish. Plug in the K44, select concert grand mode and you are in the world of a true acoustic grand, and the K44 is comfortable enough for 3-4 hours practice, though I'm having a problem convincing my concert pianist teacher. She has an acoustic upright Kawai, very clangy and it's not in tune, though I'm too polite to say so. Always glad to get back to the K44's. No doubt I could spend £100 more but would I be able to tell the difference? Good result with my ancient Pioneer A-209R hi fi amp (e.g. Karajan's classic Falstaff) so I, for one, am happy.
