Yes it can be made smaller but you would have to alter the cover. My husband uses as a base cushion in his wheel chair.

Yes I too am a double above knee amputee and have found this cushion a great help in pain and pressure relief

I have to agree with Dawnlady's answer. It's supposed to be more high tech than a gel cushion and may help on a wheelchair, as it is more breathable, but too thin/hard on an armchair.

17x18and about 1inch thick .this item is not very comfy for any length of time

The zipped side does go underneath and at the back. The Airospring label should point upwards. You can wash the cushion but make sure you have the mesh side down if you have taken the inner section out for washing. Hope that helps.

not really,it's far to thin for that,but still gives really good support and ventilation
