THe basket is not as big as my old fryer eventhough it is a 3 litre model. I like to have the lid on when frying to stop oil splashing everywhere but the filter does not work well and most of the steam comes out under the edge of the lid. However, the worst thing about this item is the fact that the basket handle hooks over the top of the fryer and drips oil down the front onto the worktop. A very bad design flaw.
