When my old steam press packed up after many years, I bought another, but was not happy with the performance due to it being slow to heat and steam bursting from the upper plate wasn't effective. I gave this inferior new model to my mother whilst I searched tirelessly for a good replacement. I was thrilled to find this steam press is as good as my first old faithful - and better. I find the steam rising from the lower plate is more effective than those that steam from the upper plate. I am also happy with the size, simplicity and improved water system that means I don't have to keep buying new sponge filtration systems that quickly clog up, go mouldy and start to smell.
Absolutely thrilled with this product and would thoroughly recommend. This product was about £30 cheaper to buy on Amazon than on Ebay or anywhere else, and delivery was fast. The item was new and suitably packed. Couldn't ask for a better product, service or price. Well done and thanks. Would buy from this seller again.

I bought this press to replace my 40-year old Elnapress and chose it for the steam facility. The machine is well designed with thought given to ease of operation and handling.

The steam operation is excellent and is simple to engage or not - just allow the plate to hover for steam or close immediately for no steam.

The ironing plate has a facility to allow wider opening height for bulky items, but I use this also when I rearrange the garment during ironing, as I frequently burned myself on the Elna's plate doing just that! The extra room between the hot plate and my nuckles is most welcome.

The accompanying DVD is really informative and gives some good tips - even for an old hand at using an ironing press.

If you are thinking of buying your first press, this one does a first class job - it is lighter than the Elna, but perhaps that's a point in its favour - it's easier to lift.

A great steam press. I have a young family and struggled to find time to get all the ironing all done, but I now whizz through it. Its perfect for the childrens clothing (my youngest is 2 and I can put 3 or 4 pairs of her trousers/leggings on the plate and press them at the same time). Ive yet the master the technique for school shirts, but I'm sure when I sit down and watch the hints and tips dvd supplied that it will all come together.

I havent used my normal iron since owning this steam press.

Amazon uk gave me an approx. delivery date , then an email giving another date ... it arrived a day late.. On opening there were no instructions as to how to attached handle .
The cable supplied had a continental plug!! (That is a two point pin not three as needed for the UK.) I rang Amazon, thinking it would be easy for them to supply me with the correct cable. The call was answered by a very polite young man with an almost incomprehensible oriental/American accent. .. yes he was in the US!! I asked him.
He did not seem to be able to understand my problem that two point pins did not fit three point sockets as used in the UK.
His first suggestion was that I buy an adapter.
The second was that he give me a partial refund and that I look for a suitable cable!! I
He did not understand why this was not acceptable to me.
I explained that if L ,living in the UK, buy an appliance from Amazon UK for use in the UK , then the appliance should have the correct cable and I should not have to buy one.
If the appliance does not have the correct cable then it is being sold unfit for use.
He grudging admitted that I might have a point..

    No apology.

He asked about guarantee though why when I had not used ,indeed could not use it.

GUARANTEE !! was in German. No use to me.

    I have returned the press.

Heyho back to the search .

My Question is ...how do I know if I will get similar situation . Presses are not marked 'with UK plug'

A previous reviewer noted that the press came with a European plug and this is my only complaint. However as I had a spare lead from an old kettle with a 13 amp fuse this was no problem. The press works beautifully and saves a lot of time even for a novice user. If I ever get around to watching the DVD on how best to use it I might save even more! The machine steams well and has a large water reservoir which doesn't require filling too often and does not need to be emptied for storage. Temperature settings are clear and simple to use.
I would thoroughly recommend this press to anyone who would like to spend a lot less time slaving over a hot iron!!

This item was purchased after a lot of heart -searching as to whether the cost was worthwhile but after a couple month's use we are wondering how we managed without for so long

For many years I had an Elna press. Brilliant. Then I half dropped it one evening and it didn't work so well, so I searched and came up with this AEG. Looked good, useful features, German, should be good. Well it isn't. Shonky build.

European plug gave me pause, but I thought, OK, what the heck.

DVD in German, which I am not. Hmmm.

Guarantee [I think] also in German, which I still am not.

No suggestion of repair centres, just told to send mine to a 'registered' one if repair needed.

The second time I picked it up to use, the water reservoir fell out. When I investigated, its lock fell off.
Because of its weight and size I figured it would be expensive for me to return, so I would persevere. Bad choice. Wasted my £240.

I would never recommend this item to anyone. Buy Elna. I would give this 0 stars if that was an option.
