Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

The unabashedly bloody and violent shooter,Quake II that has splattered PC screens since its release has come to roost on the PlayStation. Yeah, it's awfully gratuitous. No, you shouldn't let the kids play. But darn it if this game isn't a sure-fire hit that depends on pure, visceral action. For those who haven't been shaken by this computer megahit, it's your basic cavernous hallway crawl populated by biotech alien bad guys who want nothing more than to make you expire.

For your enjoyment, you are given a virtual armory of ridiculously powerful devices with which to destroy your attackers. Expect gore, and lots of it.

Surprisingly, disc loading times in midlevel are short, and the movement is fluid with fast frame rates. Also, the control using the dual shock game pad is very well implemented, although for the small percentage of PlayStation owners who bought a mouse for the system, this game is compatible. In fact, Quake II makes the purchase of a mouse a worthwhile decision. Multiplayer games excel, even with tedious split screens. Rather than letting you save your progress anywhere, the game has specific saving points within each level, and enough of them so that you won't be too frustrated. --Jeff Young

Product Description

After years of waging war against the alien aggressors, Earth is on the verge of being completely obliterated. One last effort to bring the mass destruction to an end is underway. You are part of a secret assault force sent to fight your way through heavily fortified military installations in order to lower the aliens defences and shut down their war machine. Only then can Earth hope to launch an air assault. Only then will the fate of all humanity be known.

Crawl through shafts. Blow up dimly lit subways and explore the dangerous shadows of moody, immersive 3-D environments. Perform 20 complex mission-based levels, armed with hard-core weaponry as you obliterate the alien dregs of the universe. Smooth 3-D models move like there's no tomorrow--in your case it might be true.

Killer effects allow you to wreak underwater devastation, shatter windows and blast away into dramatically lit environments. Become a well-oiled machine by modifying PlayStation gameplay variables for superior running, walking, jumping and firing control. Save set-ups of a fully configurable controller for enhanced movement, weapon aiming and viewing. Stay up to date on damage and weapons effects with dual analogue and dual shock analogue support. Features two- and four-player quad screen fragfests in newly designed deathmatch levels.

A superb transfer from a P.C. game with terrible graphics to a gloryfied gore fest! While not having the best AI in the gaming world this does not matter as it does not focus on stealth, and instead, supplying bucketloads of blood and lots of guns! Multyplay is limited on it's arenas (unlike Goldeneye!)But if you are looking for an all out frag fest which contains exiting and tough combat then this is the game for you!

Fun:
wow, i havn't had such a sensation of gameplay since i played jomes bond golden eye!

The game features very good graphics, and still surprising even today, the gameplay although similar is just what some one needs to satisfy boredom. The enemys and some of the weapons are regenerated into quake 4, but it's great to see there original desighn!

The game is more complicated then doom 1-2, not only by its improved graphics, but it's small primary and secondary missions and objectives make it a fun game to play!

There are alsorts of physics like dynamic lighting, location damage on enemys and walls, and real impact that engages you more tham any other game made at that time.

It's fun and very satisfying...a real bargin for one of the worlds most famous vidoe games!
