You are Alex Mercer, a shapeshifter with absolute mastery over your genetic structure, stalking the streets of New York City, searching for your past.

Fun:
Prototype is a brutal game of destructive fun taken to new heights.
After ten minutes of play, it feels like second nature to run up buildings, glide to the next one, and charge your jump for when you land, just to take off and have some more. Roaming the city is one of the highlights of the game.
Another highlight is that the game really makes you feel like you are playing a very powerful character. This feeling is even enhanced because of the ridiculously deep upgrading system (go for the blades and all the movement enhancements!)
Consuming people to view the story is fun, and the cutscenes are nicely done. The story is entertaining.
There are 3 or 4 boss battles, and they are very well done.
The downside of the freedom in the gameplay, are the not so impressive graphics, and the repetitive enemies (you will start the game by destroying tanks and helicopters, and you'll end it doing just that).
But those things never bothered me once: this game is marvellous, and I am glad I got to play it, even though I missed it when it was first released.

Fun:
The game Is very fun because of Its simplicity. even on the hardest difficulty it wasn't too hard to the point where it becomes frustrating. I only got stuck twice, and not for long, so to make it more challenging for myself I played through without upgrades which made It more fun.

Hack/Slash/Splurge
Short on plot and with limited quest types, this game is very much a one-trick pony. Quite short too but given the lack of variety, that is not a failing.
