I don't know where to start.
The first game was nice, very nice. So I looked forward to playing Prototype 2.

... except I can't.
Every time the loading screen shows up, the game just locks up while loading, and nothing happens, no matter how long I let it load. If I jump right into the game, it loads about that far, but as soon as it needs to load another level/mission etc, it hangs up.
Apparently, this is a known problem, too. A problem Activision never addressed, never even acknowledged as one.

As of now, I am literally unable to play the game past the 3rd mission where you're introduced to the priest - the game locks up reliably every time the indroduction cutscene finishes. The load screen pops in and stays.
No solutions have worked so far (and I tried alot), so I think the game (being unplayable for me) deserves a negative rating.

4.0 out of 5 stars More gore... 6 Aug 2012

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I've read the reviews but so far I haven't encountered any of the 'bugs' that others seem to complain about (and which should be addressed in future patches), which leaves just the game itself (bought from Amazon).

Although the original Prototype had much to commend it, I never got around to actually finishing it.

It just lacked 'something' that truly engaged me.

This time round, the emphasis is more on 'blood and gore' and the accumulation of additional powers, with the plot taking something of a back seat in this action orientated sandbox.

Early days, but I may just enjoy it enough as a - literally - bloody time passer (once I manage to work out how to find let alone 'eat' some targets)!

4 stars for being much more fun than the original.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good game, bad port 7 Sep 2012

First I want to start off by saying that I found this to be a fun game that had potential. However, this game is plagued with issues for the PC. The worst one for me is having the game crash about every 1-2 hours of playing. Another was during an early mission I had to set the game to only use 1 cpu core to actually finish a mission otherwise you couldn't progress (luckily that was a one off occurrence). If you liked the original prototype, you'll probably like this too. I would just recommend you get this for console if possible. The issues don't happen for everyone, but it is a big problem, and something you should bare in mind. It's quite honestly unacceptable to be released like this, and since the studio has closed, there's unlikely to be any fix. Aside from that, it was fun to play when it wasn't crashing.
