This game is a fun diversion and will bring back happy memories for anyone who enjoyed the N64 Goldeneye. The story has been changed a lot and the levels, while recognisable, are very different as well.
At first the controls can feel a little awkward and take some getting used to but once you find the set up that suits you best you can soon slip into it, there are fome fairly pointless gameplay elements involving the Bond gadgets opening locks etc, these are used to break up the flow of play and make it feel like you're a secret agent with cool toys, they add little but are interesting the first time around.
The graphics aren't mind blowing but do the job pretty well, everything is fairly clear and runs pretty smoothly, the sound effects and voice acting are ok as well.
The most annoying thing I've encountered is that the bad guys react to damage by reeling and crouching and cannot be hurt while doing this so you can shoot someone once and then have to wait 2 seconds before you hit them again and do any damage, this can get awkward in a crowded shoot out.
Despite this games fiddly shortcomings it is fun, you want to go back for more after you get shot-up and I have yet to put down my DS in frustration, it helps that I'm a Bond fan boy and rank the N64 classic as one of my favourite games ever.
Well worth a play if you can get it for less than a tenner, especially if you loved it the first time around. Just don't expect to be astounded.
