This is perfection for me... i wanted an amp that was clear and crisp and warm at low volumes and totally clean... the clean channel is divine... it takes a bit to work out just the right settings i love to put the clean channel volume just a little bit past 12 o clock and reverb to 9 o clock and both bass and treble bout 10:30.... when you strum that little bit harder you get a stunning vintage crunch like a 2000 quid all valve amp.... the overdrive channel is also impressive but im more an acoustic player... but my strat sounds gorgeous also and when u crank up the volume you just never feel like its ever gonna struggle to keep up... iv played it at full volume and it is still perfectly clear crisp and warm even if my ears dont agree with it... lol.... for £350 and without being a complete picky musical super expert with perfect ears..... this is as good as you should ever need, very good build quality also and looks awesome, the tweed front looks so stylish... it does weigh a little more than i expected but with 2x12inch speakers i shud of expected it really.... and its bigger than you expect some how too... anyway go buy it, you wont be dissapointed, like i say unless uv got 10k and can afford a Matchless DC30 this will do for £350

I've had this amp for several years now. I play blues mainly through a Gibson 355 and a strat, only effects pedal I use is a Dunlop cry baby. The Vox is outstanding, it plays clearly at very low levels (important for the neighbours) and has a clear crisp tone. Especially like the reverb. I've tried/listened to a few amps in this price range since buying this and this is my favourite still.

Definitely recommended.

Verified Purchase
I have always been a fan of Vox I have a AC50 I bought in the mid 60's, I have the Vox pathfinder10 and now the Vox AC30VR, it sounds just like the vintage AC30 a great piece of kit just what I was looking for, the only negative comment I can give is the reverb is very weak, no chance of using it on the normal channel for a clean sound at low volume, you have to crank up the normal volume to get any reverb at all and if you do It goes into distortion so you lose all your clean sound, so you've got it clean sound but without reverb, Vox really need to look into that, the other thing is there are no gradients on any of the controls at all, not easy to set up by eye swiftly you have to play around to get the sound you wan't, not good in a gig situation, but that aside it is a great sounding amp vintage or modern and well worth looking at if you want an amp for every situation and the price won't break the bank, give it a try you wont be disappointed.
