There are eight different alphabets in this book with suggestions for how to use - room names child name plaques on one page. The book starts with pictures of all the complete alphabets followed by a page of suggestions and then the charts for each of the alphabets. Good book but only downside is the colour charts are for one specific yarn manufacturer with only the numbers of the yarn and not the actual name of the colour - so you need to go by the picture if you are using a different yarn manufacturer - not really a big issue for an adult or a knowledgeable child.

From baby to adult - letters for life 23 Mar 2007
By Barbara Rhoades - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
When I saw this booklet, I couldn't wait to get my embroidery floss and needle out. My grandchildren all wanted their initials on various jackets, sweatshirts and pillowcases. The littlest boys wanted Space, Bugs All Around or the Creepy Crawly letters while the new baby's mom wanted Noah's Ark on her little girl's sweater. The older kids wanted Fiesta Folk Art which looks like a Mexican Fiesta and our "little princess" wanted In the Garden letters on her pillowcase and Once Upon a Time on a blanket to go in her play castle.

Needless to say, I had to get busy. The graphics were large enough for my "over 40" eyes to read without having to get new glasses and with the color prints of the letters on the same page, even if I had a question of which symbol was what, the photo made sure I didn't!

The last page in the book gives general instructions on working with carts and explanation of stitches in case I forgot what Mom taught me as a small girl. I have a feeling that as the children grow and their tastes change, I will be using this book for a long while. I can see my "off to college" grandchildren wanting an elegant initial on a blouse or pillowcase for their life on campus!

Cute patterns 26 Dec 2011
By Bigfan - Published on Amazon.com

Got this book to make some alphabet samplers for my daughters teachers. Really cute patterns, love the robots & the slime the best. Patterns are split on pages to allow room for thread charts & to show where the pattern falls in place on the sampler which, for me, made it harder to follow. I hate overlaping patterns. Would rather they be shown a little larger to be easier to read, and letters not be split up. Patterns themselves though are really cute.
