5.0 out of 5 stars Invaluable for all PCC Members and Churchwardens 19 July 2008
What is a 'Faculty'? What is 'Sequestration'? What is an 'Interregnum'?

If these are the sort of questions in PCC meetings you want to ask but are afraid to(!), then this book is for you! John Pitchford's revised book provides not only alphabetical definitions but talks readers through practical issues relating to all aspects of the work of a PCC, making helpful suggestions all along the way. Pleasingly, Pitchford never forgets in the midst of outlining administrative detail, the spiritual context of the PCC's work.

So if you want to know your Electoral Roll Officer from a 'NSM', or Rural Dean from an Archdeacon, this is the book for you!

3.0 out of 5 stars Hmm 3 Sep 2009
As a new PCC secretary, I got a copy of this book to help me along. It has some very useful bits of information in about duties etc, but there are some entries in the book that I found most bizarre and rather off-putting - I'm just not sure I need to be told what kind of shoes to wear in church!

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but slightly old fashioned 13 Jun 2010
This is a good book and does explain some of the different terms that as a PCC member you come across but I found it old fashioned. There are things in this book which really don't belong, you don't need to be told that it is polite to arrive early for meetings, everyone knows this but it is the busy modern lifestyles that make this hard.
