Product Description

So far as most people are concerned, ABBA burst on the music scene in 1974, when they swept to victory in the Eurovision Song Contest with Waterloo. It is true, prior to Eurovision, the Scandinavian quartet was largely unknown internationally - in fact, they hadn't officially used the name 'ABBA' before. But it is equally true Björn, Benny, Agnetha & Frida (as the group was billed on their early releases) were not an overnight sensation. All four members had tasted success - as a group and separately - before they started recording together as ABBA. Numerous books have been written over the years, telling the ABBA story - but this book is different. This book focuses on the songs - the 'Gold Hits' as we have called them, and details Björn, Benny, Agnetha & Frida's chart successes on six continents, in no less than 22 countries.

"ABBA Gold Hits" is a book I would suggest to each and every single fan of this amazing group. The knowledge building inside of it is just incredible. It truly is waiting to bust out of every copy of the book and into the fans memory bank. This is THE fan book for ABBA fans from all over the world.
ABBA would be proud. This book contains countless amounts of rare facts, every single that went gold listed, the rarities that have been released through the years, pictures of rare items by ABBA and MUCH MORE!! If you are an ABBA fan reading this, then please, don't just take my word on it. Read the book yourself. You won't be sorry - you will probably just wonder where this gem has been all your life!
ABBA Gold Hits is a book I suggest to all fans from all over the world.
The authors are Craig Halstead and Chris Cadman. The work has been long, but well worth it. ABBA Gold Hits is here for YOU!

When I saw this book at first I was a bit disapointed of the lack of colour pictures, but on closer inspection I found it full of so much information that, basically, I couldn't put it down! There's so much information here about Abba's chart success all around the world from Sweden to Australia and the US to Asia. Their world-wide number one records totals no less than 24! And that's only in countries featured in the book. For anyone who enjoys chart lists and books like the Guiness Book Of Hit Singles, then here's one all on Abba - it's pretty impressive too. Did you know that Abba's most successful market for number one records was Belgium (16) & Ireland (11). Also lists Abba related records and solo records pre and post Abba. A facinating look into the world of Abba through their hit records. Like The Beatles, Abba achieved so much in the short time they were together - what most artists take a lifetime to do, if they're that lucky. This book proves that Abba were truly wonderful. Thankyou for the music, Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny + Frida.
